[ ] The only reason why i am giving a 1 star is because without it I wonāt able to write my review, this place deserves-1 star absolutely disgrace of a company, i booked this restaurant or venue last year November 2019 for a booking for jan 2020 so i gave 2 months advance notice. So my husband went to the premisses and gave Ā£450 deposit, after a couple of days we decided that we can no longer do it for that date and needed cancel. we called up the manager and explained our situation and requested our deposit back on which he replied that he will have to speak to the owner of the company so we waited patiently for a call back which we never received, so we called again and spoke to the manager he was very hesitant to speak and requested again for our deposit back, he then went on and explained that they cannot give us our deposit, at that point i was getting very upset and explained to them that we are only cancelling due to emergency reason and its only been a couple of days since we booked so we have not made any loss for your business. This so called manager could not give us a valid explications into the reason why he could not give us our deposit instead kept giving me explanation that wasnāt even relevant to the subject. At the end after speaking to a few people who knew the owner gave us Ā£150 back from the Ā£450 we paid so basically made a lose of Ā£350 in 3 days. I just want to say that the way in which they handled this situation is utterly disgraceful and will never ever use the service again nor will any member of my family friends this mean less customer for them. They need to stop going on about how they help the bangli community i mean really is this what you call help. stealing of innocent people, i mean the illiterate manger that works there was so qiuck to say when booking how they are so different and how they run the service. How business is not the typical bengali restaurant all i can say to that is your far more worse then that, you guys are greedy and hungry for money and what you did was steal someone innocent money After all of this happened i went to go and read reviews which majority was bad, i guess im not the only one that thinks they are greedy. i wish i done my research before booking. WARNING READ REVIEWS BEFORE BOOKING. TIPS service is really bad lack of communication skills. Advice to the restaurant whoever the owner is come put from your pot hole and go to your premises show your face and deal with customer complaints face to face instead of sitting at home and claiming benefits. I honestly cannot tell you guys how much struggle and stress this place has caused in our life. We have 2 young kids to provide for and every penny spent counts and when greedy companies like this take your hard earned money for nothing has angered me. Do not book this place for any events they are greedy selfish and not trustworthy. Im sure they will reply to this and apologise act like they are a reputable restaurant but honestly make sure you do your reading before booking. Picked this venue for a small family event due to its interior decor and privacy.
Prior to the event Management proved to be very difficult to work with - the food is overpriced, they rip you off with the stage (not allowed to bring one in from an external company), wanted to overcrowd tge seating arrangements on the tables (though there was a lot of space available), refused to provide prayer space for ladies (even though there were two other rooms that were empty and available), he only wanted to deal in cash (though we paid around Ā£1,500 and received Ā£6 discount as a result -š)
During the event Setup was not done exactly as agreed. Management had agreed to provide a tables for gifts and cakes but an inadequate space was given. When requesting a cake table, they refused. Furthermore, they refused to provide any cutlery for guests to eat cake with, although there was plenty available, a guest was forced to run to the local shop and purchase plastic spoons and plates. We had booked one stage, but on arrival, found that a different stage was given (later found out that this was not taken down from the last event). Whilst I was praying, the management asked me for a tip of £100 for providing this stage (that I didn't know existed). Failing this, he then went on to approach my mother and another guest for this tip. Guests had reported to me that he was speaking rudely to them and that he had refused to provide basic assistance (providing an extra plate or cutlery).
Although we managed to complete our event here, i would most definitely not recommend this place. There's no customers during the week hence why he charges so much for any type of venue hire. Lucky for him, the venue looks decent and is in a secluded area, but the service he gives is just not worth...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBooked a small wedding party for 150 people. This place thinks it can cater for this size group, but in reality - they certainly cannot. The tables and chairs were so tightly arranged, even the service staff couldn't move around. Once you have sat down, you cannot get up again as you are hemmed in. Realistically, the venue can only hold about 75 to 100 people in comfort. On top of that, the ac was either too weak or non existent. If you want to be fed like pigs in a pen - then this is the place to be.
The service was extremely slow, guests waited with salad and sauce in hand but the starters started arriving after at least 15 minutes - by which time, guests had the salad on its own. Even then the delivery of food onto tables was sporadic and disorganised. They have no experience of hospitality or guest management. I asked for 3 guests to be served earlier than the rest as they arrived early before everyone else (7pm) and wanted to leave at 8.30pm due to medical needs. I was told that they cannot do this as the food is not ready (I was baffled).
They then moved a group of guests from a set table ( long row) saying that this table is not part of the booking and that food will not be served on this table. The guests had tried to utilise this table due to the very tightly squeezed set up. Why? have the table there in the first place - taking up much needed space.
Terrible experience - will never use this place again or...
