Awfully disappointing. We booked a Christmas dinner in advance and it was a miserable experience. Overall it took 3hr 15min and it took around 90 min before we got any food. I imagine this is not a representative of Christmas dinner at a pub. And probably they were having some issues in the back of the house. The food overall was mixed, some decent and some awful. We never got our food at the same time so we were never eating at the same time. We would have left if we hadn't made a deposit for the evening. The kids were bored and hungry. They never came to check on the drinks while we long waited for our food. There were angry tables all around, living through the same frustrating experience. And there was no attempt to make it right at the end. No comps although there were comps for other tables.

Nice service. Good beer. We stood outside and drank on a Thursday at about 5pm. The server collected the beer glasses left outside.

This is a great, small traditional pub! Tucked away from the hustle & bustle of Oxford Street and much cheaper than Marylebone prices. A single room with a few cosy alcoves. Full of photographs of “London Life & Edwardian England”. Traditional pub food is well-priced and looks good. Decent selection of real ales are well kept. Friendly staff offer a warm welcome to regulars and visitors alike. Avoid “plastic” pubs and support traditional pubs like this!

I made a provisional booking to hire the room upstairs in the daytime ... made the booking face to face and took a menu away and watched the manager write the booking in the diary. The manager was meant to call me in January but she didn't and when I tried calling them, the phone number wasn't recognised. So I went back to show my family and to confirm the provisional booking in Feb face to face since phone wasn't an option and the manager couldn't have been more rude. She had no recollection of the booking, didn't even offer to go get the calendar, and basically pushed us out the door as my daughter was with me and yes it's a child-free pub but this should have been mentioned to me when making a daytime booking as she would have been at the final event and I had no idea. Also no need to be so rude, just politely say something and i'd have understood and left. I sound like an old moany reviewer but honestly shocked by...

It's a lovely little pub, the staff are friendly and offered table service outside. We only had simple refreshments of G&Ts - which were served in wonderful bowel glasses with plenty of ice and lime - pefect for a rather hot evening. Couldn't comment about their food as I haven't eaten there yet, and we know a 'yet' means I'll definitely be going back. The clientele was very mixed from young adults to middle-aged folk, all seemed to be enjoying themselves. Inside they had the football on, where a few people sat and watched the game, but tonight was a hot night and not for an evening of sitting inside. If you are passing, I would say: "Pop in, grab a drink and enjoy...
