As an art deco lover, The Beaumont has been on our wish list ever since we read an review about this hotel. In that review dated back in 2016, the writer suggested that The Beaumont has quickly established itself as one of his favourite hotels in London and offered impeccable service and great value, and we very much looked forward to our stay since we received great hospitality at an establishment at a similar price point prior to our visit.
The hotel is beautifully designed and situated in a prime location, tucked behind an alley with Hyde Park and the bustling Bond Street within walking distance. The front desk staff was extremely courteous and guided us to our room, but unfortunately our experiences since then have been less than stellar.
First of all, the room apparently had no central heating and the air conditioner could only be set to cold. We set the thermostat to 30 degrees celsius but despite that, the room was still freezing and my partner felt sick during our stay. Secondly, the room had virtually zero view with a window facing a tiny inner courtyard with barely any sunlight passing through. Thirdly, the staff we've met during our stay have been polite, but that's as far as their hospitality went. I felt I was more enthusiastic greeting the housemaids than they were seeing us, and I've had concierge staff avoiding eye contact and failing to acknowledge us despite staying here for 4 days.
The hotel reportedly offered great value at its price point and was famous for maintaining a Daimler that takes guests nearby for free. While due to high maintenance costs the Daimler was no longer available, they apparently still offer this service in a newer vehicle but not once was this offered to us, despite us seeking advice from the concierge on how to get somewhere.
Breakfast, which was our favorite activity at the previous hotel that we stayed at before moving to The Beaumont, was also something that left much to be desired. We didn't get breakfast as part of our room rates, but we decided to have breakfast anyway on our final day. We took responsibility for not checking what was available for the continental buffet before ordering it, but the entire section was perhaps 1/4 the size of a breakfast buffet at a normal 5-star hotel and consisted of only some pastries, cold cuts & cheese, yogurt, and juices. The pastries were ice cold as they weren't stored in a heat box, and the entire experience was rather confusing from start to finish as we received little guidance from the staff.
Overall, we did enjoy our stay at The Beaumont, but couldn't help but to feel like something was missing upon checking out. We were not sure if it was because of the high expectations that we had coming into this place, but it certainly left a lot to be desired and we weren't sure if this is an establish we'll return to if we return to London...
Read moreAn amazing hotel from the minute we arrived until the minute we left. The hotel itself is beautiful, immaculate, quiet, and comfortable and well-located close to busy Oxford Street and two tube stations. The staff is top notch and made our stay very special. I travelled with my daughter to London for a mother-daughter trip. This was her first trip to London and my first in over 30 years. We were met by the wonderful hotel staff. Our room was waiting for us when we arrived early in the day after flying overnight from NYC. Our bags were taken from us and bought to our room. Check in was efficient and easy. The room was located on the third floor facing the front of the hotel. We were celebrating my daughter's 25th birthday and a wonderful piece of chocolate cake awaited her upon arrival to the room with a personalized hand written note from the hotel staff. The room was immaculate and comfortable. The air conditioning worked great. The bed and pillows were wonderful. The bathroom was spacious and beautiful. The towels were plentiful and the bath products were so lovely. They even provided bath salts for the bath which were much appreciated after a long day of walking and touring around London. Everything was perfect. Our hotel stay included breakfast. This was the only area where the hotel could improve. While they had all the basics on the buffet table with eggs available for order, the offerings could have been a bit more plentiful. The buffet offerings did not compare to what is found at larger hotels. However, whatever you asked for was provided so we certainly did not feel as though we missed out on anything. Also, their tea selection is amazing. We tried a different tea each day. |I had the opportunity to use the spa and get a pedicure. It was wonderful and relaxing. |The staff was very safety conscience which I appreciated as we were two women travelling together. I felt very safe at all times at this hotel. The highlight of the stay was riding in the hotel Bentley. They provide service within one mile of the hotel in the Bentley. It was so luxurious and convenient. We arrived in style for our dinner plans. |Overall, I cannot recommend this hotel enough. The staff made this part of our stay in London very special and one we will not soon forget. The staff should be commended for their attention to detail and for making guests feel like this is their home away from home when travelling. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone booking a...
Read moreHave you ever walked into an establishment for the first time, yet it just seemed like everybody knew you as if you were being welcomed back for the 100th time ... this sums up our stay perfectly at the Beaumont Hotel!
My husband and I have stayed in some of the nicest hotels around the world, yet The Beaumont was hands down the best experience of them all. The finest attention to detail was taken from the moment we pulled up to the front door. The bell men were so friendly and once we introduced ourselves, our names were never forgotten.
One of the most memorable individuals during our stay was Angel, who as soon as we stepped through the doors, could not have been more accommodating. From arranging the special touches my husband lined up for my Birthday the morning after (which involved wrapping presents and bringing them to the room for a 8am wake up), he was discreet but always available. We travelled with our 5 year old who was made to feel equally special from the ginger bread treats given on check-in & departure (which were exquisite) to his very own Beaumont teddy waiting on his pillow, every detail the hotel showcased made each moment of our stay so special.
The hotel clearly prides itself on customer service as the General Manager, Jannes Soerensen was extremely present at each turn. His dedication to the hotel is evident and his passion for people shines through! Jannes’ leadership, energy and support has evidently established a strong rapport between the staff members and his high expectations of class, success and service is met beyond measure!
We stayed in the Roosevelt Suite which boasts some of the finest views of Mayfair and London. The hotel architecture, cleanliness and style is dreamy. From the Art Deco dressing tables to the ‘floor to ceiling’ marble bathrooms, each aspect of this hotel was well thought out and incredibly elegant, something you don’t see enough of these days.
When leaving the hotel on the Friday evening, we were escorted to Hyde Park in the hotel’s vintage Rolls Royce that graces the front courtyard. We dined at the hotel restaurant and had the pleasure of meeting the head chef who was funny and charming and provided sound advise as we were unsure which of the house steaks to choose, which was a lovely touch.
The lines of communication flowed throughout the hotel and this is one of its greatest qualities. No request is too much and I look forward to our next stay and could not recommend this hotel...
