My girlfriend and I have been in London via Toronto for almost 4 months and have been out clubbing once per week. Corsica Studios is one of the top 3 best clubs in the entire city in our humble opinion. The sound system is very proper and the drinks reasonably priced. MJK was spinning...an outstandingly sophisticated selector who deployed a barrage of different sonics to a ravenous crowd who were dancing the entire time. There was absolutely no question that this locale attracts bonafide underground/hardcore music lovers. The atmosphere harkens back to the old Toronto circa 2007 ish...a bombed out two room graffiti covered bunker of sorts...condensation dripping from the roof. Having been to London before many years ago, just like Toronto alot of the clubs have gotten too pretty. Corsica Studios is the real deal...grimey and solely about the music, nothing else. Unlike many other spots we raged in the bartenders never once tried to overcharge us. The staff at Corsica are absolutely stellar. My girlfriend lost her Luis Vuitton/Murakami vintage wallet that was in mint condition on the dancefloor with money in it. The next day she emailed the club and Laura responded rapidly informing us that they had found not only the wallet but the money also. I could not believe the level of ethics, kindness and honesty exhibited especially considering the current economy/struggle most of us are in. All around Corsica Studios is a fantastically run operation and a must go to for...
Read moreOne of my favourite spots to go clubbing. At some points it was the best place to go out in London. The parties often feature well curated bookings mainly in house/techno.
The soundsystem has had a pretty major upgrade in recent years and it usually sounds super clear and pumping in there. It's one of the best club systems in the country.
Usually there are two rooms open, and a dystopian smoking area (which i love) situated in between. The bar stocks beavertown which can only be a good thing, and for the debauched clubber they often have parties that go on well into sunday. If the club is at capacity it can be very uncomfortable and difficult to move around (be warned) but this usually settles around 3-4am when the crowd thins.
The team working there are very professional - everyone from the club managers and security to the bar staff. It really has a positive effect on the experience and i never had any problems in the dozens/hundred times i've visited.
I spent a big chunk of life in this place and it almost feels like another home. Long...
Read moreWent to this club recently and my friend was accused of bringing in drugs by security. When I probed for more information on why she wasn’t allowed entry they threatened to kick me out as well, despite me being thoroughly searched and nothing on me. My male friend also inquired why she had been specifically targeted and then he was also taken outside the venue and threatened with being kicked out, when he was solely trying to help his female friend from being left alone outside with no way of getting home. The treatment of the guests by security was severely out of hand, with no consideration of how girls are supposed to get home while their friends are inside. Furthermore, when I inquired on the reason she wasn’t allowed in, they refused to search her stating that it’s “between her and them” (the security). Surely as a female security guard your job is to ensure no prohibited substance are brought into the premises - if this is true then she should’ve been searched and therefore would have been allowed access as she had...
