Costa Coffee — Restaurant in London

Rude, unprofessional staff that needs training . I bought a sandwich and a bottled water. After paying I wanted to swap the sparkle water for still water. I even politely offered to “pay for it”.

This lady (in photo) started shouting at me in front of other customers saying “I asked you if you wanted still or sparkly! Now you coming to me to change it!” While making a disgusted face at me.

I couldn’t understand her accent or what she was saying as she got angrier. I just kept quiet and continued to -offer to pay- and she kept on saying “just go!!! You don’t have to pay for it!” Gave me both bottles and shouts “next please!”

All she needed to do was swap the water or accept my payment for the new bottle.

I understand that people wake up on the other side of the bed or are going through their own personal issues. But when you work at a customer facing role, you put your anger issues aside or attend an anger management class before...

I would to share my discontented morning left without breakfast because COSTA COFFEE GOSWELL ROAD has a "NO £50 POUNDS NOTE POLICY" apparently.

Also not just the policy which is new to me but, by how cold and unapologetic I was given the information and looked down by the member of staff who took back the toastie back from me. My breakfast is the most important meal, specially because I work very long hours non stop and if not having a big breakfast before starting, I often not sure when would have a lunch break to eat. I was getting a large coffee, toasties, croissants and snacks and had to walk off feeling at least down and frustrated. Many places have a machines to check the notes if that's the reason why that shop does not accept fifties. Me and my friend use this branch sometime mostly evening time and always find the staff are very helpfully and serving customer very quickly with smile in their face all the time . usually no problem getting seat , the toilet are very clean all the time than you will find in most London shop, Nice location decent coffee.
