My partner and I visited this place as we had the flats next door booked for a weekend in London.

On the outside the shop is clean and minimalistic.

As my partner and I are both vegetarians, we both ordered a sandwich, one of ciabatta and one on focaccia. As I went up to order, I asked the woman for the aubergine sandwich to which she replied ā€œwhich one?ā€ (Mind you there is only ONE sandwich listed with aubergine) I said the one on ciabatta? She looked at me like I was the dumbest person alive. She then said, we don’t do that on ciabatta you mean focaccia? …. If you knew what the sandwich came on, why did you ask me in the first place?

We then ordered the cheese ciabatta for my partner. On the menu itself it says for hot/eat in it’s an extra price. We inquired and she was adamant that it’s only to be served COLD! Again…. Why is it on the menu…??

Even after the order was placed, we just felt like we were being rushed out of the shop. So uncomfortable.

Just a very weird & unnecessary interaction, from an establishment Im giving business to.

We took our food to go and it was below average. My roasted aubergine ciabatta… focaccia (whoops sorry!) 😁 was a mix of all the wrong flavors. The aubergine was bitter because the skin was left on, the chutney added a weird sweetness paired with the pesto. The bread was reminiscent of a cheap garlic bread, it was drowned in butter.

My partner said his sandwich was fine, besides the fact we had to heat it up ourselves at home…he still seemed to enjoy it. So I give them a star for that.

I understand you’re a seemingly ā€œposhā€ sandwich shop. But let’s remember manners and customer service are important. We will...

Absolutely gem of a cafe. Stumbled across this place whilst wandering around Bankside and along the Thames. It's really close to the river & the Globe but tucked away on a cute little side street, it's 100% worth seeking out. The staff are super friendly, I was having a bit of bad day and the girl behind the counter was just really nice, chatty and upbeat. I only went in for a coffee (which was superb) and to get out the rain, but ended up staying for three hours. I had another coffee and grabbed lunch. The taleggio focaccia was off the charts, the bread was really light and not heavy like most focaccias. The owner (well I think he was the owner) came over and had a chat with me, gave me a taster of two of the salads both were superb especially the one with the homemade Asian dressing and a taster of the homemade soup. I'll definitely be heading back there soon, I want to try at least another 7 things...

We stopped by Crosby and Hope for a recharge during our walking tour of London. It is a lovely laid-out restaurant/cafe that is very inviting bright and clean. Service was second to none, fast efficient and courteous. We had our sweet treats first with an ever-gooey and rich chocolate brownie followed by a still-warm doughnut straight from the kitchen 🤤 The iced coffee was exactly what I wanted on a hot day in the capital, you could have syrups and all that kinda stuff or just a genuine great cup of coffee iced. You must have the salt beef sandwich, it is perfection, once warmed up and toasty it is amazing. The sausage rolls are rich and seasoned just right. Highly recommend stopping by Crosby and Hope when in the area, it is the perfect spot when visiting the nearby...

Crosby and Hope is gourmet coffee and posh fast food place a few steps from the river Thames near the Globe Theatre. I think they are open for breakfast and lunch. I had a proper flat white and a toasted wrap. In general I avoid sandwiches for lunch - they make me depressed about my life. However the toasted lamb shawarma with salad and chilli had the opposite effect, I felt happiness and joy, such was its warm deliciousness. It would need to be hot to properly enjoy! There are a couple of benches outside and main cafe is tastefully done up. Service was rapid and cheerful. Place was spotless. They must be doing something right being busy off the beaten track.
