this place is very, very beautiful, and the staff are so kind! i embarrassingly spilt my matcha latte all over the table… and they were very quick to help clean it up. they even brought me a replacement one, which i was not expecting at all. it was wholly the fault of my clumsiness, and they really didn’t have to do this. lovely customer care!! the food was nice too. though asian sweets are becoming more and more popular nowadays, i think the flavours they offer here are still quite “unique”. i had an egg salad butter roll (with nori inside), and my sister and mum had a coconut pandan bun and a matcha daifuku bun, respectively. they were all nice, not too sweet! we all had matcha lattes too, and i enjoyed them because they didn’t just taste like milk (which unfortunately is how matcha lattes taste in many cafes…). my only qualm is how the counter is laid out. it does look very aesthetically pleasing, but even when the cafe was not extremely full it felt crowded and difficult to browse both food and drinks, as menus were only available once you got up to the cashier. also, since the cutlery was right by the cashier i had to squeeze in front of some people ordering in order to get a fork!! it’s a bit cramped.

The matcha latte tastes just like the ones I had in Japan🍵 Most of the pastries were already gone by around 2:30, but I’ll definitely be back!! work-friendly✅

Perfect breakfast bakery in London! Uji daifuku bun - 10/10 - sooo good (must try!) - the red bean paste and the matcha filling sauce and butter on top was the perfect combination of flavours -so well balanced, not too sweet and moist -perfect morning sweet treat -deffo recommend Matcha bagel - 6.75/10 -the flavour of the pistachio and mochi filling was good but I found the mochi a bit too chewy - the bagel was also quite tough and bread-y giving a plain taste majority of the time -very filling Mont blanc loaf - 0/10 -weird tasting flavours that don’t go well together at all -the top cream thing was overpoweringly sweet and had no chestnut flavour coming through -the inside cream was heavily rum/alcoholic flavoured which is not up my street and in my opinion doesn’t go well with bakery items -did not finish this, do not recommend Hojicha latte and regular latte - 10/10 - so smooth and creamy -Hojicha had a nice toasted tea flavour

↓ I ordered a matcha latte and thought I was drinking hot milk…The place was so packed and chaotic. Most pastries were sold out and only 2 options left (at 1:30pm on a Sunday). We couldn’t find a seat when we first arrived so ordered to take away. It took 20 minutes to get the order in and get the drinks, by then there were seats available, so we thought we could sit down and have the drinks quickly. The barista with black glasses pointed at us and said that he needed to charge us for “service charge” to drink in (but without offering to change our drinks to actual cups). A few other tables were clearly using takeaway cups, so I couldn’t tell if he was deliberately picking on us (or did everyone pay the incremental service charge…) The only pastry available (at £6) was oily and not tasty. The coffee and hojicha were also weak. Such a bad experience and highly NOT...
