The dining experience was interesting to say the least...
When you walk up to the Zizzi storefront you have to turn a corner and follow signs that instruct you to use the lift or stairs to reach restaurant level. There are tables along the windows that have an excellent view of the River Thames, and the rest xan get a glimpse passed those tables at sine if the London skyline.
The food was actually tasty, and i would definitely recommend trying the Wagyu meatball pasta plate. it was some of the best pasta sauce and meatballs id ever tried. i would also consider doing the "3 courses for $26.95," saving you some money and giving you the opportunity to try more.
The drinks were delicious. I would recommend the tiramisu espresso martinis, or the Amalfi Sundown. And if you get a started either get the Garlic Bombe or the King Prawn Speidini.
There were some inconsistencies with this restaurant. firstly, we were asked at the door if we had any food allergies as if the menu wouldn't have a breakdown if ingredients (which it did). We were then provided a large allergy binder menu. The server never inquired about our allergies even with the giant binder. We also overheard each table get special instructions to use a QR table code to sign up for rewards and get free garlic bread. Every table was told this... except us. We also watched many tables receive complimentary "pasta crips," but we were never offered these. Two guests came in and tried to sit at a table by the window, but a host said "we reserve those tables for 4-tops." Not two minutes later another hostess walks through and seats a table of two at that very table. You should have seen the look on the original two guests face.
All the plates and drinks were little works of art, and the flavors worked well together. Unfortunately, it was the inconsistencies that brought down our dining experience...
Read moreOur host Srishti was great at making sure we was satisfied and content. Our group had a lovely time here with this being a little work Christmas get together. The food, drinks were great we were stuffed. Unfortunately there was a few issues; one of our guests was not happy, all the items she wanted was not in stock but because of this they gave us a free drink on the house for her which was good. As we was finishing up we noticed there was a disagreement going on with our host and another colleague, me and my friend was facing the bar and could see what was going on. It was very unprofessional the guy with large glasses was basically having a go at our host then we looked again and he was having a go at another girl who worked there. I said to my friend surely he not having a go at her aswell, clearly he having a bad day shouldn't take it out on others like that. I thought that was very out of order and definitely not a way you speak to others members of your team, especially as he looked as if he was just like another one of the colleagues not a manager of any sort, I would not have liked him to host my table. As a manager myself I would have just spoke to the colleague off the floor. I spoke to the lady who was in charge last night and she was lovely, she was trying to do the best she can out of a bad situation, which I totally understand however the guy was trying to show 'who boss' and that is not the way to react being in hospitality, he needs to...
Read more2 of us ordered and started eating whilst we waited for a 3rd person running late. They arrived, got the drink brought over that we'd ordered for them (along with a pizza) when they rang to say they were on route, and 10mins away. A waitress then took our 2 plates away and handed us a desert menu, we said if we can wait please as not had 3rd meal yet. We had to wait 40mins from our 3rd diner arriving to them getting their pizza and that only happened when I enquired where it was? Think we were forgotten. The restaurant was quiet at that point and diners arriving after our 3rd diner had got their food.
No apologies or admission of why it took so long. When they realised, the actual pizza took just a few mins to prep & cook. Not great customer service as avoided admitting any error and no goodbye, thank you very much etc... nothing. I'd rather they said sorry, and then rushed it through for us. I paid the already added to the bill tip as I thought it's not the fault of every staff member... no idea what happened as nothing was explained to us. Disappointed, not eaten in a Zizi before, sons trip to London for a scarey medical procedure so it was a real treat for him and he chose there to eat after it.
As an additional feedback comment, the toilets were dirty. Not sure how often checked but seat filthy and not just from a day's use. I am a cleaner so aware of issues and lack of cleaning in...
