Where do I start, it’s a causal busy pub/lounge vibe - a place to hang out and get some drinks and grab some Chinese or Indian food while you’re there. The lounge bar staff do not know how to mix cocktails, no matter where I travel to I always order the same drink “strawberry daiquiri” which is a frozen drink or at least crushed ice to give that island vibe. So I definitely know how this should be mixed, sadly the bar attendant mixed a quarter of my drink with water, I thought that was odd considering this is £10 cocktail served in a 500ml wine glass, and to make it worse there was not any taste of alcohol rather than a sweet after taste of concentrated juice. So to the food: I was in attendance with a reserved party of 30 people, the waiters were all over the place and stretched to the limit were I felt sorry for them. Food took an hour and 30mins to arrive by then I wasn’t even hungry because it was getting late and I boxed half of my food to take home. I ordered steamed dumplings, vegetable biryani and vegetable dhal. The dumplings were delicious but the rice was super greasy as if it had been deep fried and that is not how it should taste - believe me! I tasted biryani from around the world, and unfortunately this didn’t match it - I tasted more grease rather than the spices. I could see from my friends they did enjoy the Chinese food they ordered, perhaps I should selected Chinese rather than from the Indian Cuisine menu, I might’ve had a better experience and overlooked the wait time. I know it was a busy Friday evening and they seemed under-staffed and overwhelmed, not sure if I would run over my heels to come back so soon. Nice atmosphere though…

I recently dined at Crown & Pepper, and I must take a moment to highlight the exceptional service provided by one of the staff members. From the moment we were seated, Rohit went above and beyond to make our dining experience truly special. No matter how many questions we had about the menu, ingredients, or even recommendations, Rohit was always there with a friendly smile and a detailed answer. Their knowledge of the menu was impressive, and they patiently explained everything we needed to know, making sure we felt comfortable with our choices. Whether it was dietary restrictions, customization requests, or even just curious inquiries about the dishes, they were attentive and accommodating every step of the way. What really stood out was their genuine enthusiasm for making our experience enjoyable. They checked on us regularly, ensuring our needs were met without being overbearing. The level of care and attentiveness we received was truly above and beyond. It's rare to find someone so dedicated to customer satisfaction, and it made our meal all the more enjoyable. If you're looking for a dining experience where you feel truly taken care of, I highly recommend visiting crown & pepper and asking for Rohit. Their exceptional service made our visit memorable, and we will definitely be coming back thanks to their outstanding hospitality.

My friends and myself had visited this restaurant today. The restaurant was a very bad experience, our waitress Olivia was not interested in taking our order. Looked like she was tired of her job. The restaurant timing's on the website show that it's open till 11 pm but when we entered and started placing our order for drinks at 9pm, the waitress Olivia told us that the kitchen is closing and we need to give our order for starters and main course immediately. When we told her that it shows in the website that it's open till 11 she said " I will let the manager know about it ". The fried rice was served in a plate instead of a serving bowl as seen in the picture below; flat as ever, as if there was another plate kept over it. The crispy beef gravy and chicken chilie gravy was so sweet, we had to waste it. It was almost like a dessert. The cheese garlic naan that was ordered came like a pizza (pictures attached below). We would never recommend this restaurant to anyone in future nor will we return here ever.

I went to this pub on 10/10/2020 and I was astonished by the atmosphere in this pub. Firstly I ordered chicken nuggets and chips and it came to me completely cold and my friend found a hair in her food once we stated this to the manager he was very abrupt and did not really want to offer a refund.

I was completely put off that I still had to pay £6.45 for my food although it was cold from the touch I completely was put off to even notify the manager as he was arguing with my friend about her food which had hair in it.

As for the cocktails I ordered a piña colada and it was watery I tried to drink some of it but then I started to feel ill. Again I let the manager know and he was very argumentative.

Once my friend went into the smoking area I observed no social distancing within that area and everyone was hanging around each other which I think was awful.

I would not come back here again and the smoking area does not meet with social distancing guidelines.

I was very disappointed and wish I could have got my money back for the cold food. Since I have eaten some of the food I feel completely sick.

I would rate this as zero for the manager’s behaviour and...
