If I could give it a minus 1, I would. I would NEVER EVER step foot back in this restaurant AGAIN! McDonalds is better than the food we were served here. I booked a table for 8pm for my birthday (7 of us in total), arrived a little bit before, absolutely chaotic and loud. Took a while for anyone to show us to our seats, just had waiters telling us we couldn't stand where we were standing as we were in the way but there was no where to stand as the place was ram to its full capacity. Safety hazard as all the fire exits were blocked. It took 1hr for us to be even asked what we wanted to drink and that's because my mom complained. People who came after us was being served before us! When we were finally asked what we wanted, I asked for the paella, the waiter tells me its going to take 40minutes, it would better if I chose something that was going to take a little less time. When it came, the chicken was grey, I had one overcooked prawn and rice that looked like Uncle Bens. My brother ordered a coke but the waiter who came obviously didn't know who it was for because he proceeded to yell "Coke! Coke!" really loudly at him to which when he finished his drink he then yelled back at him "Glass! Glass!". He didn't like his own medicine because he then said with attitude "I'm not here to just collect glasses". Totally unprofessional. Who behaves like this?! When the bill came, my brother said something, astonished by how much it was considering the food was so bad and the waiter responded with "Yeah mon" in a Jamaican accent. We were horrified. Then the other waiter tells us that we shouldn't mind him, he thinks all black people are African so my brother says I'm not African though. Is anyone really this stupid and ignorant in 2019?! Clearly!! Disgusting, absolutely disgusting. The night was so awful, I did not take one picture, I didn't even cut the cake there that I had brought. Overall the food and the service was abysmal, diabolical, dreadful, abhorrent, should I go on? But thank god for the company, my saving grace as this restaurant ruined my birthday dinner!! By far the worst restaurant I've been to in all of my 24 years on this...
Read moreVery mixed thoughts about my experience at Galicia recently.
Me and my family came to celebrate my Mum’s birthday on a Friday night, which would imaginably be a busy night - for the restaurant also. However, the preparation in the build up, and also the service towards the end left a bad taste that justifies my 2 star rating.
One day before, I made the booking with Galicia for 11 people, which included a baby, and a kid, so we would need space for a pram. However, the restaurant failed to take note of this, and we had to wait 10 minutes so that we could all be fully seated.
The other issue we had was when we all finished our food and asked for it to be packed away. However, much of our items didn’t come back and were thrown away. This included a full plate of paella, the monkfish and some of the rabbit we had ordered. We paid a lot of money for the food we had and were really disappointed that a lot of it was thrown away. I did call the restaurant the next day to talk about this and although they were adamant they packed it, we were really disappointed with their response and outcome for what we paid for.
I even remember quite the few times when I had ordered a drink, and nobody came until I mentioned my order again, so the service was relatively slow.
I don’t want to give this restaurant a 1 star review though because the quality of the food was outstanding. I would consider coming back here for the food, but so much has to be improved from a personal...
Read moreI've been up here for a corporate team dinner. We were a group of 10.
While the staff and their service was very good, food was somewhat mediocre . As far as I can recollect, we've ordered following: Croquetas De Pollo, Coctel De Gambas, Calamares Alaromana, Patatas Bravas, Champinones Rellenos, and a Shellfish paella.
While Coctel De Gambas, Calamares Alaromana, Patatas Bravas were good, Croquetas weren't , not done properly, and had a weird aftertaste. Shellfish in paella was overcooked and flavours were pretty down, I've had much better one at a food festival in Croydon High Street. One of my colleagues ordered a dish with some Red chorizo in sauce, and he mentioned even that was overcooked.
We paid almost £40 per person.
While waiting staff and service was very good and spot on, it's not the same case with food, and i won't recommend this place for visiting again. You may visit once and try the food.
But definitely there are better Spanish restos that you can't find and better...
