Absolutely Disgraceful Service for a Loyal Customer
I’ve been a loyal customer, coming here at least three times a week, but my recent visit was an absolute disaster. I ordered a brown sugar cloud cake with tapioca, less ice, regular – and guess what? I got milk. That’s right, just milk, no tapioca. And on top of that, it wasn’t sweet AT ALL. Not even close to the sweetness level I ordered.
It didn’t end there. My large brown sugar milk tea was supposed to be warm with no ice, but somehow, I got ice. And it was still not sweet. But before I could even drink it, I had to wait a ridiculous 25 minutes. Two clearly inexperienced staff members took forever, kept fumbling with the tea names, and had no clue what they were doing. They promised us “five minutes,” but it ended up being more like 25 even after we asked them multiple times politely to hurry up because we had somewhere to be but we didn’t want to put too much pressure on them so we let it go.
Look, I get that new staff need training, but they should’ve had someone there to guide them. The lack of supervision was obvious. These employees not only messed up my order, they wasted my time, and to top it off, gave me the side-eye. Totally unacceptable. I have been a loyal customer since the shop opened in green street, I have the cupp app and recognise some of the employees who worked there because of how regularly I go to the shop and every time I go they always make my order in less than 3 minutes I still tried to give the new employees benefit of the doubt, but they were taking too long and it looked like they were trying to take the Mick.
As a regular, I expect better. This was a disgrace, and honestly, I don’t want to see those staff members behind the counter again until they know what they’re doing. Fix your training process, or you’ll lose loyal customers like me.
Usually in this type of situations I prefer not to be a Karen but in this situation I think a refund is deserved because my order was nothing like what I ordered and quite frankly if I’m paying a lot of money for boba I do expect it to be at least bare minimum nice. I am very disappointed because cupp is the only shop I go to because it is my go to shop.
Overall terrible experience which is a shame because I’ve never complained about this shop before to anyone instead I have recommended this shop to many of my friends and family members and today once I finally decide to go with one them to convince them that the boba here is nice this is the first impression she gets. Completely ruined our night out....

When I saw the colour of the tea, I assumed it was darker due to the fruit puree they said that they added. It is actually the tea that they use. The tea flavour was very overpowering, and the fruit flavour was quite weak, almost non-existent. I think they are using the wrong tea to make their fruit teas. Black tea, assam tea, and stronger flavour teas are better for milk teas. Teas like jasmine are better for fruit tea. Whatever tea you are using for your fruit tea is way too strong. It is not the worst bubble tea I have had, but I had to check the label of my tea because I had no idea what flavour it was supposed to be. I have tried 6 fruit teas, and I had the same issue with all of them. The peach tea I am drinking as I write this doesn't taste of peach at all. It just tastes of strong tea, the tea even overpowers the flavour of the boba. I am wondering if any fruit puree or syrup was added to this drink at all.
