Dendara — Restaurant in London

My family have ordered regularly from Denara and love their special diet cakes so I decided to order from here for my wedding this weekend. I bought 2x 10" cakes: one seasonal Black Forest and cherry flavour and one Elderflower Chiffon). The cakes were much bigger than we thought (more like double-height cakes) (we had 50 people coming and each cake is supposed to serve 38 but could easily serve many more). Throughout the evening all our guests commented on how amazing the cakes tasted. Light, flavourful, low (no?) additional sugar, Gluten-free, Soya-Free, and vegan. Made us and our guests very happy and we have so much cake left over!

The only area of improvement I would suggest would be to consider working with a delivery company specifically for non-local larger orders (and especially for weddings if nothing else) as the shop team is small and although they were going to deliver themselves in a taxi, it sounded like they couldn't really spare anyone. We didn't have fridges big enough to collect the cakes ourselves as we were not local, and it took a lot of extra stress and back and fourth communication to work out a solution at a time that was already stressful for me trying to organise the rest of my wedding- luckily our caterers were nearby so we ended up arranging a delivery to them - but considering the large spend, I would have thought the shop would already have a special cake courier or similar in mind to help. This may be an idea for the future :)

The day of the delivery, everything went smoothly and we will remember these incredible cakes for the rest...

If I could give Dendara more than five stars I would.

I have been buying from Salma, the owner and creator of Dendara, since she sold at the South Ken farmers market. When she opened a brick and mortar I couldn't have been more excited. Not only for her (which, of course, I was), but also because it meant I could get the hibiscus and rose tart or the chicken hand pie multiple times a week instead of just on Saturdays.

My husband is allergic to gluten and dairy and it is so hard to find good free-from foods that aren't filled with a bunch of weird substitutes that you don't want in your body. Her food is clean, and DELICIOUS. I personally don't have any allergies, but I absolutely adore everything Dendara puts out. Besides my two previously mentioned favorites, the roasted root tart, apple frangipane, and zucchini cake with lemon curd are absolute MUSTS.

Dendara is a gem. This is food that tastes amazing and it's made with all real ingredients that leave you walking away feeling good. Do not sleep on giving it a try. You'll be wanting to go back before...

This lovely gluten free cafe between high street Kensington and Notting Hill is perfectly situated for taking a break from shopping and exploring. The pretty interior is small but perfectly formed and had a fabulous display cabinet of interesting delights. There is a really great savoury selection here with multiple options, that is often so hard to find. The sweet selection was equally as appealing and I could have had one of every option. The food is fresh and tasty with a delicate depth of flavour and interesting combinations. The pastry cases are excellent, very light and fresh and you can pick them up and hold them - another rarity for gluten free pastry. The focus on great tasting food is evident in each menu item and a lot of love and care has been taken to create a well rounded selection.
