My wife and I went there for a quick dinner at 10pm yesterday evening. We ordered 2 poke: 1 with salmon and 1 with tuna. What went wrong: 1)We were asked if we wanted to dine-in, but we were given our food in a Deliveroo bag on a dirty table; 2)We were overcharged and not given a receipt: as I was charged for £33 when I expecting to pay something around £26 (1 poke of £12 and 1 of £14), I asked for it and the waitress looked like he didn't understand. Another person came to us asked us if everything was ok, so I had to insist and she finally gave us the receipt. Surprise: we were charged for 2 £14 poke, and on top of it for other charges like VAT (which by law should be included in the displayed prices). 3)The ingredients were wrong: my wife is allergic to shrimps so she had carefully opted for a poke not containing those, guess what she found in her dish?! Not only: for instance the menu says "Peruvian corn" but she was given the basic sweetcorn. Can we make it worst?! The are different versions of their menus showing different ingredients (e.g., what's displayed in the restaurant is different by what is on the menu on the website,...) 4) I wanted to go inside and discuss with the waitress but after waiting for almost 5 minutes nobody showed up... they were working downstairs. Read moreI have eaten 9 times at Poke Shack since December 2020, generally ordering multiple bowls with groups.
All the bowls taste amazing.
The portions are generally massive and you can tell they care about producing good quality food with good ingredients - in London!!
We have also ordered from several other Poke restaurants in London, Poke Shack is hands down the best in terms of portion size, taste and quality.
They also have something for everyone - which is hard to find when you want to order from somewhere that specialises in raw fish!
I have had a bad experience with them, usually I would let it slide but I addressed it with Poke who, although they took a few days to respond, did take my concerns very seriously and were sincerely concerned to hear they had upset a customer. They then immediately rectified the issue and restored my confidence in them.
This place is an...
Read moreWe used to visit all of the time for takeaway Poke bowls living nearby, but had not been in quite some time being out of town for winter as usual, so we were excited to have poke bowls our hectic first night back in town, and were quite disappointed as they used to be great, but have really gone downhill while we were away, to where they were just a bunch of rice and corn, almost no fish, seaweed - really nothing but rice and corn, and also raised their pricing significantly. A shame as well have to find another Poke bowl place (having lived in multiple cities on the west coast of the states for university and graduate school, spending time in Hawaii and Asia every year, places that are well-known for poke, we do not have high standards for them in London, so this one used to be above the average and unfortunately, no longer...
