Wow! What an amazing place. As a hearing person, about to undertake my level 1 BSL course this place was welcoming and friendly and supported me to learn to sign my order despite my anxiety. There are videos at the counter where you order to show you how to sign every product they sell, and the workers are very supportive. I was able to meet with members of the Deaf community and have my first experience of being immersed in sign. It did not matter that I didnât know much of what people were saying, I felt welcomed.
I did not order food but myself and my partners drinks were served quickly and were delicious, and the location was accessible with ramp access and was clean (also just really cool to have a cafe inside a train!)
I plan on coming back when I am back in London, and will come whenever I visit as it is worth the 40 minute trip. Please give your support to this inclusive business and support the work they are doing to build a bridge between the hearing and Deaf community. 10/10 would recommend and will be back ASAP. Thank you everyone for making my first...
Read moreI visited for the first time today and will be definitely be going back. We had a really warm and friendly welcome, nice coffee and a lovely relaxing time. There is a lovely garden space on one side and a funky deck on the other where you can watch the DLR glide by. Thanks and...
Read moreMy oat flat white was lovely, as was the vegetarian bagel with salad, pickles and hoummous. The staff were lovely and clearly cared that we had a good experience. The friend I was meeting there showed off his BSL, but you can also order verbally if you enunciate with care and respectful patience. Bike racks close to the wheelchair access ramp, lovely wooden outdoor terrace, and it's very peaceful, being in a very quiet area tucked away near the ABBA stadium and the Olympic park with low footfall. Learn some British Sign Language on your way there and learn some more when you arrive! I will be dropping in again with...
