This is my local place that I've been going to for 3 years. That ended today and I will not eat in this place ever again...
We ordered some food and coffee and the guy said that it will take some time for the food, around 20 mins. We said that's fine and took to our table. After 20 mins we still hadn't even received coffee, a gentle reminder had our coffees with us after 25 mins. 45 minutes in we still had not received our food so my friend (who is quite frankly the nicest person in the world and wouldn't say a rude word to anyone) approached the kitchen and said to the girl "excuse me, could you advise us when we can expect our food because I have an appointment soon"
The next thing we know, the guy slams our money on the table, I ask "what's this?" and he says its our refund that we asked for because we have to go. Obviously I said we did not ask for a refund, and he just walked away from me like a spoilt child while I was explaining what we had politely asked.
I then got up from the table and went over to find out what the hell was going on and neither of them showed any interest in listening to me, and looked away most of the time just hoping I would go away.
We had wasted an hour of our time. We left hungry, and totally pissed off at the way the staff had treated us. Rude and incompetent staff like this do not seem to realise how experiences like this can ruin your day.
The people here used to be so friendly when I first started eating here. It's such a shame they now employ rude, inept staff not fit for the job.
I will NEVER set foot in here again and I advise you not to either. Go to Jim's Cafe, Venetia's, Pivaz or Bernstein's for much better food...
Read moreThe food here is really lovely and especially the falafels that they make at the front.
BUT, The service is diabolical. The girls stand around chatting about what they're going to be doing on Friday night, completely ignoring customers. I waited half an hour for a coffee and when I went to check up on this discovered that they had forgotten me! The girls that are serving are very inattentive and you will not be able to catch their eye because they are too busy chatting about their personal life.It seems as though placing orders is an inconvenience for them, and get annoyed when you disturb them in mid flow chatting to their friends nd each other about personal stuff. Note that you will come out absolutely stinking of food. I suppose this can't be helped as the restaurant is small and the felafel wraps, are cooked inside the restaurant at the front, but whatever everyone else is eating - that's what you will smell off when you go back to work. I work at the hospital. Can't spend my entire lunch break hanging around waiting for the waiting staff to finish personal convos 😐 Tip - Management - do get your staff in order, as people talk about it, and I can tell you for certain you're losing business. Your waiting staff are arrogant and you see, and...
Read moreI love this place, and the combo of bakery/patisserie and falafel stand has a quirky charm all its own. The falafel is yum. I live locally and pass by there often. I would give them five stars just for the quality of the bread and pastries, but the production is hit and miss - the bread is sometimes warm and fresh from the oven (and amazing), but sometimes tastes a day old, and sometimes somewhere in-between. I am not in favour of waste, so it's fine if you want to sell off your stock, but you can't charge the same price for day-old bread, or market it as fresh on the same shelf, especially when you charge almost £3 for a small baguette. Bread depreciates fast. Even when I go by there around the same time in the evening, it's hit and miss. I would shop there a lot more if it was...
