Dovetail Bar - Clapton — Restaurant in London

Happened to stop by the bar today, Along with my partner and a friend of ours, We intended on staying for 45mins/1hr just to catch up, but ended up staying for around 3.5hrs without even realising.

The atmosphere was so chilled that it was easy to lose track of time. Combine that with the great selection of drinks and you’ve got a quality Sunday afternoon.

Jay was an absolute gentleman and gave us the run down of all the drinks to choose from (very competitively priced) his customer service was so personable and obliging and that’s quite rare these days in my opinion.

It really was a great way to spend a sunday afternoon and we wish the new owners and the team the very best, with what I’m sure will be a spot we will be frequently visiting.

A true rare hidden gem! One of the best cocktail bars I’ve been to!

I didn’t expect to stumble across such a fantastic place purely by chance and popped in for a quick nightcap. It was a wonderfully warm bar to step into on a cold night, and the guy behind the bar (Jay) who greeted me was just as warm. Great attitude, great vibe, and fun to chat with.

I asked for recommendations based on my preferences, and he suggested The Bramble. It was incredibly well-made and absolutely delicious. The menu is very well thought-out, and it’s clear that behind it is excellent knowledge of this craft!

Shout out to George and Frenchie for being absolutely amazing when our burned out bridal party turned up at 9pm on Friday evening, having been victims of a less-than-great booking[.]com experience. They let us stash our bags in the back room, found us space in the busy bar and offered us a complimentary round to soothe the nerves! They couldn’t have been kinder or more accommodating, and let us use the bar as a hub while we tried to sort out somewhere to stay.
