This was just what you'd expect from a pub offering B & B. The room was a decent size, with a huge TV which was, though, sideways on to the bed so wasn't easy to actually watch. There were two armchairs, not very comfortable, and both had only three legs and so had to be propped against a wall. If the pub had thrown them in the tip and bought two chairs from the British Heart Foundation for a few pounds each it would have improved the room greatly. The ensuite was so small that the washbasin was in the room itself, with nowhere to put toothbrush and toiletries. I had a meal on my first evening which was about average for a pub meal in quality, and I guess in price for London: I live in Darlington where everything is much, much cheaper (I was a bit horrified at £3.69 for a half pint and a bag of crisps!). As a place to lay my head, in a very convenient location (walking distance from both Richmond station and the wedding I was attending) it was perfectly OK. If I was visiting for a London city break I wouldn't...
Read moreThis place was a great find. Lovely pub with friendly and welcoming hosts, great atmosphere and cosy outside sun terrace. We had a twin room on 3rd floor, note there is no lift but not a problem for us. Room was bright, comfortable and well appointed. Comfy beds, very clean and surprisingly spacious. Plenty of tea and coffee, milk and biscuits. Shower room clean and functional. Could use a little tlc, but plenty of hot water and toiletries. Breakfast was fab, full English cooked to order, plenty of toast, cereals and yoghurt, juice and excellent plentiful coffee. Vegetarian cooked breakfast option too. Drinks in the bar were very reasonably priced. Well located just 10 minutes walk from station and all amenities. Hosts were very helpful and let us leave our bags when we checked out so we could explore the Riverside walks. Would...
Read moreFantastic location in Richmond only a short walk from the town centre and shops but hidden away in the Vinyard. Rooms above a traditional style welcoming pub in a residential area. Very quiet, apart from the early morning rubbish collection if your stay happens to coincide with bin day! Yes there is some aircraft noise but there always is in Richmond and it is often noisier in Twickenham. ||While the decor is on the vintage or retro side, our room was clean with a comfortable bed and a working shower with hot water. ||While some aspects of breakfast are great like the coffee and the freshly cooked breakfast it could be improved by offering some real fruit for those who don't eat cereal or like fruit juice. ||Prices compare favourably with a well known chain hotel in...
