An Argentinian steak restaurant located on the Richmond riverside with seating inside and on a terrace. Gets very busy so suggest booking a table. Apart from offering a selection of steaks of various sizes, other choices include fish, pork and chicken. I had the grilled whole sea bass and it was totally cooked to perfection and delicious. My friend had a ribeye steak which was juicy although the firecracker chimichuri might have been a little spicier. The desserts were gorgeous and well worth ordering. The chocolate torte was a rich, chocolatey dessert with ice cream, Kahlua and biscuit and was outstanding. The table service was excellent and the server will offer to explain every cut of meat on offer. The one disappointment is that the mains do not come with anything. When my fish arrived, it was obviously missing accompaniment. You are thus compelled to order veg (which should be on the plate in the first place). If this is a common practice in steak restaurants, then ignore this comment. The sides are small and hardly worth writing home about. The fries are thin and don't match the food; chunky would. The table green salad was a few leaves of lettuce and the odd chunk of avocado. This doesn't put me off from returning to Gaucho's because it is a great restaurant in a great spot staffed by people who know what they are doing. That sea bass really was exceptional.

Gaucho was buzzing on a Friday evening as the weather was good. It has a nice vibe and is pet friendly, so there were a few doggies enjoying a sunny day. The staff are very knowledgeable about the cuts of meat and bring the platter of cuts out to help you decide. The only reason for the 4 stars is that I specified I was Coeliac, and my steak was brought on the same tray as my sister's and her meat had some marinanation. The meats should have been on different plates. Secondly, at 80 pounds a platter, there were only 4 pieces of steak and no vegies or carbs. At 80 pounds, surely a side of mashed potato and Sautéed veg could have been added. Also, we weren't asked what sauce we wanted and so ended up without any sauce. One of us liked the meat plain, but I personally would have liked a sauce. We did get a free dessert at the end for my brother in laws Birthday, which I was told was decadent. Unfortunately, being gluten-free, I couldn't taste it. The vanilla rum ice cream, too, was absolutely yummy. We were not given a gluten-free menu, though it is available online with a QR code. I did specify my steak should be Gluten Free though and the waiter asked if it was an allergy or preference, so I assume it was noted. The place is pricey but I guess you pay for the ambience and quality of meat.

First visit, and enjoyed the experience. Located by the river, I'm sure on a nice spring or summer day/evening, the experience would have been nicer. But hey, we live in London, so I'm really not going to complain. The walk from the main road can be a massive challenge for some. I took my elderly mother for a Mother's Day dinner and felt a bit sorry afterwards. However, she enjoyed the experience. Food: The food was really nice. The showing and explaining of the different cuts helped with choices . The sirloin steak was as requested, well done, and very juicy. What I would say was that the vegetables could be more. 4 sticks of broccoli... Wine: Viña Patricia Melbec was a good choice by the lady who served us. Definitely complimented the meal, with a rich colour but slightly dry touch, the smell of fruits coming through. Note that I'm definitely not a wine connessieur, but I thought this one was nice. Service: 100% the best, even though it was extremely busy. The only reason why I gave 4 for the overall score was the location. On the map, it looks accessible from the main road, but it is not. There were way too many people standing and waiting in the reception area. It made such a nice place look slightly over crowded. This may have been down to the weather.

This was the best meal we had on our Paris/London trip. The location is right in front of the water. Our waiter, Valdis (sorry, may have spelled it wrong) was amazing. He took his time recommending my wife and cocktail after asking her what type of liquor she liked. She did not like Gin, but he recommended a Kiwi with a Gin cocktail that she absolutely loved. We ended up ordering a Provolenta as an appetizer, which was delicious. After explaining all the cuts, we ended up sharing a 500g (about 17.6 oz) ribeye. The meat was tender, juicy, and delicious with a perfect cook. It even had that real grill taste. Don't let the picture fool you. It was a big, 1" thick steak. The sides were delicious as well. This restaurant makes all their sauce in-house. The cows are all grass fed, and you can taste the difference. They even care about the environment by planting trees to help offset the carbon produced. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

Amazing setting and a beautiful place to eat, my waiter was outstanding and really knew how to give you that extra service. Situated on the Thames you can sit outside and view the river or sit in their elegant inside. We got to taste the different selections of wine on offer to choose one which suited us. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the cuts of the steak and the variety of foods on offer and gives an honest opinion which is refreshing. We had the sausage starter which was amazing followed by a 1.2kg tbone steak which was cooked to perfection. This place is not cheap but the service and the food really is worth it and you will not regret going here. It's the perfect venue for a nice summer's day. It was just over £180 for two of us and that was starter, main, and a bottle of wine and the food and the excellence of service was well worth it

To start with the location of this restaurant is fantastic, sat just in the river bank it’s the ideal place, the internal decor is also great. Booked a table for 2 for a sibling catch up and upon arrival we were seated immediately, was about 5-10 mins late but never felt rushed at all. After being seated we were presented with the menus swiftly and we were also shown a plate of steaks available which was great and helped us pick what we wanted. All of the food came out at perfect timing and as expected from gauchos was tasty, the only let down for me was the steak itself, it wasn’t a great cut and was extremely fatty, when I usually visit the chain the steak is better quality. All that being said it was a great experience and I enjoyed the food. Definitely need to go back Other than t
