Famously, I give everything four stars. Literally go back and look at my reviews, I’ve never been able to justify giving anyone anything other than four stars. But this place was one of the most exceptionally four stars places I’ve ever been.
Newt had the tacos, two pork and two beef, he said they were good, but the beef was juicer and a little spicier than the pork. Unfortunately though the taco shells were a little stale. He also got a Jarritos drink and was excited to see so many flavours available.
I had a chicken burrito and was glad to be able to choose my own fillings as I’m ridiculously sensitive to spice (I have a disability on top of being a white person lol). I was excited to see my tortilla being warmed up in front of us. The chicken was shredded and tender. Very tasty.
The decor and general vibes did leave a little to be desired though. We went at around 4 o’clock and it was like a ghost town, I assume at lunch time it’s a bit busier.
There’s a little like ridge in the doorway which I think most wheelchairs could probably get over. There was also plenty of very sturdy-looking benches so plus sized patrons will at least be comfortable here.
Whole meal for two of us was £22.75 which is pretty reasonable for rather...
Read moreThe food here is lovely. It’s great to see all the fresh vegetables on show and the staff were friendly and helpful.
I had the chicken burrito which was served as a generous portion. I’d have liked the hot sauce to be even hotter as it didn’t break a sweat. Maybe there could be an extra extra hot option for the brave.
I’d have liked a few more zero-sugar / diet drink options. As the portions are so massive, it’s unlikely I’d have gone for full fat but having said that the other drink options on display look incredible.
The nacho chips would have been nice to have but there all in plastic packaging. I’d have been happy taking a portion as a side on my plate, or in a paper bag to take away.
On that note, it’d be good to have recycling available for the cans and foil.
The decor is nice and there’s a good eclectic collection of art.
I’m looking forward to eating here again and trying other things on the menu. It’s a welcome addition to the area, but at £8 a lunch (including drink) I think it’ll be reserved for special days rather than a...
Read moreI had the absolute pleasure of discovering this gem of a Mexican restaurant today, nestled in the heart of Crouch End, and I must say, I am utterly impressed! The taste and freshness of everything they prepare are simply unbelievable.
I had the pleasure of trying their homemade lemonade and the burrito bowl, and both left me absolutely stunned by the burst of flavors. It's evident that they take immense pride in their culinary craft, and it translates into every dish they serve.
What sets this place apart, apart from the mouthwatering food, is the exceptional quality standards they maintain. It's evident that they are dedicated to delivering nothing but the best to their patrons.
Moreover, the staff deserves accolades for their warmth and patience in explaining every nuance of the menu. Their genuine enthusiasm for the food they serve is contagious and made my dining experience all the more delightful.
I can't wait to return to this little slice of Mexican culinary heaven. Well done to the entire team for a job...
