Easily the best cocktail bar in London. American Bar has the name, Lyan has a cool location, Scarfes has the clout, but no one has better service.
The crew are always on best form, drinks are inventive, small menu makes for well thought out and accomplished food.
The wine list is short, and as far from pedestrian as you can get. Brilliant, biodynamic bottles from new and old world producers that will shock you at their value and character.
Cocktails... Nothing to say beyond they're spectacular. Please, please being back that sweet coffee warm Biscoff thing you had. Oh god, please. I'll give you a kidney.
Atmosphere is local..... Because it is. We're all ok with our hidden gem actually, don't come north. Just observe from afar, thank you. Buzzy, lots of conversation, but inviting all the same. Like a birthday party that is expecting you, there's almost nothing better.
The only minor (tinsy) (tiny) (miniscule) thing I would change is the chair heights on the high tops and bar. Guys, I'm 5'3, I can't do this after 6 cocktails.
And god knows...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWow, weāve been here a couple of times for cocktails and itās great. The team are friendly and knowledgeable and their take on classic cocktails is fun and interesting. But theyāve just added a food menu and itās amazing. Brunch served till 4pm Saturday and Sunday includes a fabulous breakfast bun (brioche, Tomato nduja, potato rosti, fried egg, applewood, pickles) - delicious and the Cheese Toastie - Four cheese and chipotle ketchup was raved about by adults and kids. The next time we visited we had small plates. The Pork Tenderloin, remoulade, pickled celeriac, crispy capers was a delight, the Croquettes - Slow cooked onions, mixed mushrooms, maple sriracha was spectacular and the Beef Crumpet - Blue cheese rarebit, beef, sourdough crumpet was so morish, I was disappointed to find I was full. Overall a fabulous addition to Crouch End Broadway and one that we will visit time and time again. Also small...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBoyfriend just moved to the area and we popped in for a drink after the cinema. I'm afraid this is going to be one of those cliched "we came upon the place by chance!" reviews, but that is essentially exactly what happened.
Complete gem of a place: brilliant cocktails, super atmospheric candlelit vibe with the friendliest staff ever. You know that imaginary bar you have in your mind (or is it just me?) where you can just walk in, plonk yourself at the bar and have a proper lovely chinwag with the barman whilst he whips up a beautiful Old Fashioned? Yeah that one. Well this is one of those, but for real.
Haven't tried the food yet, but it looks great and seems as fairly priced as the drinks. Looking forward to our next trip there, and what with this place and Small Beer (also great) now in Crouch End, we barely need to leave the...
