Walking into this busy but Friendly environment for some can be quite daunting howerev Dom - The bartender immediately set me and my partner at ease with a friendly greeting and service.. There was a small wait to get seen to our table where Dom engaged in conversation asking about our day and if this was our first time at the resturant.
We where shown to our tables where emma, the host came over to greet us and ask if we had been there before, we said no and she began to explain the process and how things work she then gave our plates where we began at the salad bar.
Whilst back at the table servers began approaching us asking us if we would like the meat presented.. one server who stood out to us was Tyler - he approched us professionally, confidently and clearly, once he had finished serving his selected meat he wished up enjoyment and moved onto the next table. His mannerism and service all through the night was amazing.. he shared his experience from 1pm when he started, and was still smiling at 9pm when we left.....
Emma then came back round to ask if we wanted anything and if everything was ok..
Whilst digesting i started observing the boss shimi he was talking to his servers who where cleaning tables and by the looks quality controlling the servers work, making sure the salt grinders where clean... he also took the time to check on us where we explained we had travelled up from south london on the recommendation of a friend...
Overall it has been a great experience the fact that most of the servers where smiling through thr whole thing (a couple servers looked miserable, like being there was a chor).... the fact the boss allows his servers to be comfortable where there own trainers while running hot meats up and down the dining room... the 1 recommendation i would have for servers to wear comfortable CLEAN, black trainers... servers wearing white trainer, white and purple trainers, and Dirty scuffed trainers does not compliment there service and...

The main attraction is the meat, which is carved beautifully on to your plate. However the pescetarians and vegetarians will also be delighted with the best salad buffet and hot buffet in the whole of the UK. The deli style salad bar has a wide range of choices and the hot buffet includes great accompaniments to the main event. Pre order fish otherwise if you are carnivores, come hungry.
I've been going to El Vaquero since it first opened about 15 years ago and the service has always been first rate.
Meat cuts include several kinds of beef, chicken and lamb. Beef: picanha, rump, marinated beef skewer pieces, Uruguayan beef, beef leg, beef sausages to babe a few, chicken includes wings, legs, marinated teriyaki, lemon chicken breast, chicken sausages, chicken hearts (delicious!), Leg of lamb, lamb sausages and some others!
Salad bar is high end deli style which you can go and help yourself to, deep fried aubergine with balsamic (my fave) sesame green beans, cauliflower, coleslaw, couscous salad, rice salad, green salad, mixed salads, sweetcorn. Also a range of salsa and sauces including home made chimichurri. See my photos.
The hot buffet station includes spaghetti with tomato sauce, great for kids, rice, plantain, beef stew. They bring freshly fried chips to the table.
The service is impeccable with a great bar and drinks list and if you can manage it, dessert! They bring roasted pineapple and the hugest roasted marshmallow you'll ever see all included in the all you can eat price!
Excellent value, quality and deliciousness. I always look forward to coming here and so do so the friends I've brought over the years. This is in my top foodie list of London.

Read moreI don't usually write reviews but because of the experience me and my family had I thought I had too. Upon stumbling on some of the previous review, there are people that experienced the same as myself.
It was my 17th Anniversary and me, my wife and two teenaged children decided to celebrate here as me and wifey have been here before probably nearly 20yrs ago. When we approached the entrance there were about 8 people waiting outside. I noticed they were all looking at us like we were aliens or something (we are a black family). We went inside and waited about 5mins for our reserved table.
The waitress that explained how everything worked was very helpful no problems there. About 40mins to an hour eating we noticed the waiters with the meat on skewers were walking past our table and going to everyone else who just happened to be white people. Eventually my wife stopped one of them and asked for some meat who gave a really sarcastic answer to my wife.
When we eventually finished paying the bill and were getting ready to leave I noticed that the ladies sitting next to us started looking at us again like we were aliens and didn't belong there. If no one knows this that Mill Hill is filled with a lot of Jewish community and I'm not sure why they from what I experienced don't like black people. They get a lot of racial abuse just like we do so you'd think they would be more understanding.
What really baffled me is that they have black people working at the restaurant so im not quite sure what is going on there.
Overall the food was great, our waitress was great but I senced a bit of racial tension in there from the Jewish community and I felt quite...
