Elies Cafe, Poke Bowl & Salad Bar — Restaurant in London

I took one bite and then left.

I tried Elies based on the good reviews. I ordered the special breakfast. Based on the menu picture and description I thought I'd get some toast alongside a plate with the eggs, avo etc. But what came was an open sandwich. Two slices of bread, each with mashed avo spread on them topped with the turkey bacon and egg.

What I didn't like was:

1. The bread wasn't toasted. It was cold and dry
2. The avo was poorly seasoned, I think maybe a lot of lemon and no salt.

I specifically picked the breakfast option on the menu as I was in the mood for some toast with my meal.

I think the menu needs a better description and the owner / staff should taste the food. Cold dry bread and poor seasoning is not enjoyable at all.

Total waste of £10

Ellie’s Café has to be one of the stingiest places I’ve ever been to. I ordered the pokie bowl, and for the price I paid, I was shocked to receive just six tiny pieces of chicken—yes, six! Portions are a joke, and it's not worth the money at all.

On top of that, the customer service was terrible. Most of the staff clearly lack proper training or basic communication skills. It felt like no one knew how to talk to customers with respect. The service was slow, unwelcoming, and frustrating.

Honestly, management really needs to step up their game—train the staff properly, improve customer interaction, and stop being so stingy with portions.

Perhaps we ordered the wrong thing or came on the wrong day but the food here was not very good. The service was really lovely & the smoothies were nice, but the food was so bland. I got the eggs royal, my friend avocado on toast, one with mushrooms. Everything was lacking seasoning, the eggs weren't poached but boiled, & the quality of ingredients wasn't great, which is fine but when there's no seasoning, I may as well have gone to Sainsburys and done it myself.
