We visited Elliott’s with high expectations. As expected, the prices are on the higher end – which is fine if the experience matches. Unfortunately, the portion sizes, especially for the pizza, were surprisingly small given the price. The pizza itself was absolutely delicious, no doubt about that, but for what you’re paying, you’d expect at least a regular-sized pizza – not something that feels more like a personal portion at the cost of an XXL one.
Service-wise, the staff were friendly, but sadly not attentive. It took around 15–20 minutes after we were seated for anyone to even take our order, and we had to call for service ourselves. Meanwhile, the table next to us (with local customers) was given constant attention, with staff checking in frequently. In contrast, we felt overlooked and had to ask multiple times just to place an order, only to be told repeatedly that someone would “be right with us.”
Given that there’s a mandatory 12.5% service charge, this level of attention is just not acceptable. I have no issue paying for good service, but being charged extra for minimal attention and long wait times is disappointing.
Perhaps we were just unlucky, or perhaps being tourists made us less of a priority. Either way, the experience left a bad taste, and although we visit London regularly, we won’t be returning...
Read moreElliot's is in a fun area near London Bridge. The surrounding area caters to date nights, happy hours, and good times with friends. Elliot's fits right in by offering great food with expert preparation, good service, and a fun atmosphere.
Ellliot's only serves their burger Monday-Friday at Lunch (so it's a bit hard to get sometimes), however it's to admire for attention to detail and preparation The burger features comte cheese, caramelized onions, dill spread, pickles, and a soft bun. A perfectly juicy beef patty, that is rich in flavor, is complemented by the melty comte cheese. Add in the blend of flavor from caramelized onions and dill spread to give this burger a savory flavor with a unique hint of something more. The dill undertone in the spread, deep beef flavor, cheese, and onions combine into an amazing combination. Sweet, savory, beefy, cheesy, and something that will leave your taste buds happy. In addition to the amazing flavors, the texture of the beef and the tenderness of the bun were also right on the mark.
Elliot's burger is one of the most unique burgers I've eaten in my travels. If you're looking for one of the best burgers doing something different it's at Elliot's. For being unique Elliot's deserves an appreciation any foodie...
Read moreA friend and I had dinner at Elliot’s Cafe in Borough Market. Agreeing to eat as well as having a glass of wine we were shown a table in one of the booths next to the bar. My friend and i caught up over a glass of wine and then ordered some food; a starter, a main and various side dishes all to share. Having finished our food the waitress gave us the dessert menu, we informed her we would be ordering any more food but would like an other glass of wine. She told us we would have to take our wine at the bar as the table allocation was for a 2 hour period and we had over run. We enquired why this was the case when firstly the restaurant wasn’t in the slightest busy and secondly why were we not informed of this when we were first shown to our table? Unable to answer sufficiently we asked to speak to the manager. The manager, Charlie came to speak to us some 15 minutes later and with little care stated all tables had a 2 hour allocation and conceded we should have been informed of this as we took our seats. No apology was offered. The food was good but not worth the high price you pay at Elliott’s. The service was rude and arrogant. We left feeling ripped off and unwelcome. I certainly won’t be returning and would not...
