Came here with my wife for a meal. Starting on a positive note, the food was tasty and the portion sizes were generous. However, I found it difficult to enjoy my meal due to the sheer lack of customer service. I was greeted by a lady who directed me to the seating for 2. I had asked for a booth but she refused me (even though they were all empty?). Anyway, I sat down at the two seater table, only to see the other three couples who arrived after me were all seated at the booths!!!!!! The family that had come 10 minutes after me, received their drinks before me and by the time my main meal had come, the drinks had still not arrived, despite me having asked twice already. I requested butter from 4 different waiters and it still never came. The fifth and final time, I re-asked a waitress who claimed she was new and that I should ask someone else as she didn't know where it was. On refusing to ask someone for a SIXTH TIME, she literally threw what was in her hand and stormed off. I was absolutely horrified. I have never been treated like this in a restaurant before. Anyway, the butter finally came but by this point, my rice was not hot enough to melt it. On asking for the bill however, it arrived very quickly, with the staff making no hesistation to take money. Anyway, although the food is good, there are other Iranian restaurants offering high quality food at a much better service. I would highly recommend avoiding this place, based on the fact that your mood may be spoilt by the poor customer care. It's probably one of the worst experiences of customer service I have ever experienced in...
Read morei would give them 4 stars just to leave room for improvement, the staff were friendly and responsive, the food was of good quality, i always judge a Persian restaurant by their Koobideh Quality and theirs is half way between the best and the average by Tehran's Shamshiri and Nayebs standards! which is good enough to rank them at the top 5 of the Persian restaurants in London! Bread which is an addition and you usually get it in the Persian restaurants outside Iran (inside Iran they usually don't bake bread in-house but bring you sealed shop bought ones which is not nice at all) was nice too! this type of naked bread although is not a traditional one (it was a cross between a Lavash and Taftoon ) but believe me it would do the trick! Barg (flattened fillet of beef) was tender and juicy (it could be tastier but it was nice and fresh) Rice is the most important part of a Persian Dish and Maroush's Rice was nice the Saffron rice could have used of more Saffron but it was a proper steamed long grain Basmati rice. (it could have come with some butter which was missing on our plates) my favourite part of a Persian Kabab Dish is the Roasted Tomato! what i have got for a Roasted Tomato looked more like a burned baby tomato which was not enough to accompany my dish to the end and finished halfway - Shame!! it is now the day after and I feel well so I guess the hygiene was at an acceptable...
Read moreAbsolutely lovely. I took my family there after seeing the exterior of the restaurant while driving by, which looked good enough for me to drive nearly 20miles to come back.
The interior didn't disappoint either. The decor was a lovely Middle Eastern Persian, with the restaurant divided into 2 parts, a smaller room which holds about 40 diners and is open to the main restaurant but can be sectioned off for private parties. WITHOUT DOUBT THE CLEANEST RESTAURANT I HAVE BEEN TO.
The staff were polite and courteous. No rush to order even though the place was packed but when we did order, service was prompt.
There is no alcohol served here but that suited us fine as there was a large option of juices, soft drinks, mocktails and milkshakes. I'm not sure if they provide table service if you take your own but I did see wine glasses.
Food was delicious and ample of it but don't misunderstand, this is not a kebab shop or Turkish restaurant and the cost reflected this but of course you get what you pay for and for the overall experience I've paid far more.
Definitely worth a visit to upgrade from your usual tried and tested Turkish Ockasbasi restaurant and combine it with a Middle Eastern twist. Perfect for Halal seekers or the ones that...
