From the moment we stepped into FishWorks, we were enveloped by its charming ambiance—elegant décor, soothing music, and attentive staff set the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.
Our culinary journey began with a standout appetizer: the Seared Ahi Tuna, delicately marinated in a soy-ginger sauce that perfectly balanced heat and umami. The tuna was impeccably fresh, and the flavors were both bold and harmonious.
For mains, the Dover sole was a revelation. Served with a luscious buttery lemon sauce, each bite melted in the mouth, showcasing the fish's delicate texture. The halibut fish and chips were equally impressive—crispy batter encasing moist, flaky fish, accompanied by perfectly cooked chips. Our boys thoroughly enjoyed their fish and chips, making it a hit for the entire family.
We complemented our meal with a glass of crisp white wine, which paired beautifully with the seafood. The sides—roasted potatoes and sautéed spinach with pine nuts—were thoughtfully prepared, adding depth and variety to our meal.
Desserts were the crowning glory. The lemon tart, paired with a scoop of lemon ice cream, offered a zesty and refreshing finish, while the rich chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream provided a decadent contrast. Both desserts were exquisite, and the combinations elevated the flavors to new heights.
A special mention to the staff, who were exceptionally accommodating, especially concerning our boys' nut allergies. They communicated with the chef to ensure all dishes were safe, allowing us to dine with peace of mind.

Read moreWe are big lovers of seafood and whilst we normally eat at its neighbour we thought we would try the Fishworks out. The menu was able to cater for my allergies adapting ingredients which always makes me smile as I know they are real chefs preparing the food! My meal moules didn’t disappoint. Though a few were rather shrivelled and though I wasn’t given a dish for the shells it was nice and I enjoyed it. They also replaced the bread for chips but charged for this. The other half ordered the linguine but I nearly spat my wine when he compared the tomato sauce on his pasta to Heinz tomato soup- he said it was over powering and meant the samphire was lost. In the end he used a spoon as it was quite soupy with sauce. They had only jersey oysters which for my taste were bland, watery and a bit gritty. They could have been shucked with more grace, but I do love a good oyster. The wine was delicious! Would we eat there again probably not but it had potential and maybe a Tuesday evening is not the best day. The fish counter was a little wiffy on the way in (the one in the window) but keep walking as the counter inside...
