I have been a loyal customer of Five Lads Good Mayes for over three years, and while I've enjoyed the quality of their food, my overall experience has been a mix of satisfaction and challenges. The culinary delights crafted by Five Lads are undoubtedly good. Their flavours are rich, and the variety offered caters to diverse palates. However, my recurring concern lies in the delivery service. As an online customer who has never visited the physical branch, my experiences have been marred by instances of incomplete orders.
On several occasions, I've received incomplete deliveries, leading to inconvenience and embarrassment, especially when hosting gatherings. Despite prompt apologies and refunds from the branch, the issue persists. The lack of delivery drivers to fulfil the orders raises questions about the overall logistical efficiency and customer satisfaction measures in place.
Last year, there were inconsistencies in the spice levels, with the 'hot' category often resembling 'medium,' and 'extra hot' lacking the anticipated intensity. Fortunately, this issue has been addressed, and the spice levels are now aligned with expectations.
However, the persistently missing components in orders, such as fries with chicken or rice with chops, raise concerns about the order fulfilment process. It prompts the question of how well the order sections are managed and the attention to detail exercised in the preparation and dispatch of each order.
I urge the workers and management of Five Lads Good Mayes to empathize with customers facing these challenges. While the food quality is good, addressing these persistent issues in order completeness and delivery logistics will undoubtedly enhance the overall customer experience. I look forward to continued improvement and a seamless dining experience with Five Lads in the future.

I was fairly disappointed of my experience here to say the least.
On my arrival, with guests (approximately at 10.22pm 23/07/22), I asked the hijabi sister weather we could eat in. Her response I found to be disrespectful and discourteous - she started giggling with one other male colleague and stared at us blank for 20 seconds. Until my guest said “do you not want us here?”, with her finally responding “ok, just don’t take 10 minutes to order”.
Then it came to ordering, we had to go to the kitchen in need of a staff member to take our order, only to find 4 of them chit chatting. During our order at the till, the same sister was screaming down the restaurant asking if particular items were available.
The entire experience, from entering to leaving, felt like a secondary school lunch experience. The food was mediocre. There was inconsistency with the size of the chicken fillet In the burgers - one was of standard size and the other was half the burger bun. Each meal came separately, the last meal came 10 minutes later and the starter arrived last, so much so the couple behind us, who ordered after us, received all there food and extras before us.
Overall, I can’t possibly recommend anybody else dining here with the experience that we had. I feel the staff members were acting out of place and ill-mannered purely because no management were in the vicinity. Furthermore, the food wasn’t upto scratch: the chicken breast was overcooked, buns stale, “pigeon” wings, warm beverages, the lamb wrap had a kid size portion meat in it- I could only recommend the steak fries.
I hope management find this and action the points I mentioned. I gain nothing from leaving this review, only the hopes that nobody else experiences what we had...
Read moreI had a deeply disappointing experience that I feel compelled to share. I discovered a long hair embedded in the beef burger patty I ordered. This was not only disgusting but concerning, especially as I was serving this food to my children.
I promptly brought this issue to the attention of the person I believe to be the owner. Instead of addressing my concern with the seriousness it deserved, he initially denied the problem altogether. Even when I showed him the hair coming out of the patty, he deflected blame onto the supplier and refused to take responsibility for the incident.
After much insistence on my part, he finally refunded the cost of the burger. However, his attitude was dismissive and disrespectful throughout the entire interaction. As a customer, I expect the establishment to take ownership of such issues and to respond with empathy and professionalism, especially when it involves the health and safety of their patrons.
While I appreciate the refund, the owner's lack of accountability and poor customer service have left a lasting negative impression. I hope that necessary actions will be taken to address these concerns and improve the overall hygiene and customer service standards of...
