Very aesthetically pleasing, a quaint little pink brunch cafe Chapters. Parking can be problematic as it’s a busy high road in seven kings. It’s quite small inside with probably max space for about 14 people, can get quite crowded if you bring the buggies in. Bonus is they have the seating outside under a veranda, which is also beautifully decorated with floral arrangements. They also have heaters in there, they turned them on for as we chose to dine outside it was a little cold. Brunch is served till 2pm with exception for starred items and lunch starts from 12pm. The customer service from these guys was good they were polite but the food let them down for me. Plus they forgot to serve a drink we had to ask and missing items from dishes and the flowers….. For starters … Nachos: I don’t know about you but I do not want a bunch of flowers in the middle of my plate I mean it wasn’t even small with large green stems and bright yellow flowers and on top of that more little purple flowers for garnish. I pretty sure these weren’t edible but either way no place on nachos for me ain’t got any business being there apart from the salsa, jalapeños, the all important melted cheese sauce and maybe the guacamole 😆. Found ourselves picking at it as the guacamole also had a weird taste, (ordered mains beforehand so didn’t know about the burger later). Buffalo glazed chicken wings:These were as dry as they looked guys and there’s barely any lush saucy coating/glaze it looks like a drizzle of sauce with the crispy onion garnish and chopped chives. As they were dry they were quite chewy. For mains all the burgers are served with brioche burger buns and crispy skin on chips. The chips were the best thing crispy not too oily a nice Italian seasoning and love the presentation in the little chip baskets. Southern belle burger: which is American buttermilk fried chicken, lettuce tomato Algerian sauce and the homemade guacamole. I had to scrape the guacamole out as it had a weird taste as earlier on the nachos, but was not a fan had to leave it got the burgers packed up as I didn’t finish the other one either. Apple Slaw: chose this as an side to go with burgers as I was expecting it to be fresh and vibrant. It wasn’t as crunchy as I would like and the apple was sort of browned if you looked as it was covered with mayo dressing I didn’t find this appealing. (Plus they also chose to serve this with the starters I don’t know why). Inferno burger: A basic beef patty which was small compared to the size of the brioche burger bun quite disappointing aswell as the plastic looking turkey bacon. It was garnished with crispy onions, melted cheese and Algerian sauce. Did not like the taste of this at all literally 2 bites and not for me. So got it packed whilst I waited for my dessert and coffee. The loaded French Toast which is served all day when open: read it wanted to try it sounds so delicious the fluffy brioche with hints of cinnamon and vanilla (this would have been lovely if you could taste it!) coated in crispy cornflakes then fried and topped with flaked almonds, fig jam, fresh berries, a dollop of creme fresh , chopped bananas, candy floss & a chocolate wafer. It was lovely to look at and the garnish of flowers but again not what I was expecting and was way too floral for me. Their Mediterranean syrup had a weird taste like perfume and flowers and it was literally all over the French toast which is why I left it ate the fruit. They missed out stuff and I went to ask if they had run out or something which also to me sounds like false advertisement because you don’t get what you expect. We also ordered the blue lagoon mock tail was one of the better ones I’ve tried but nothing special. The cappuccino was nice and you could taste the espresso which was lovely but the whole food experience was a big no from me it was such a big disappointment considering the...
Read moreA quaint little cafe. Pretty and inviting. Service was absolutely lovely, warm, welcoming and pleasant.
Food was nice, not worth the price considering:
I ordered the summer special, brisket eggs benedict. Brisket lacked in flavour and buns were burnt from one side. Husband ordered full English. Food took a while to come, which was fine. I thought they were making it all fresh. Came out just warm at touch. Expected it to be at least warm considering we ordered hot food. And my tea also got cold quickly. Seems everything was sat in the back before being served. Something they can improve on, because it was an overall pleasant experience, food was nice (but needs tweaking) and I wouldn't mind trying other food on their menu.
Lovely place and service, but for the concept and price, would expect food to be better.
Nice place to visit as a couple or with a friend. Not the place for a group of more than 3, max 4. Limited seating.
Also, I appreciate the nasheeds playing, but was loud. For a small cafe, volume needs lowering.
Lastly, our table was shuffled over because there was a nikaabi sat on the next table. She came after us. Our table was only shuffled over when her husband arrived. We are a respectful couple, and found this to be disrespectful to us. All customers should be treated respectfully, irrespective of outer religious dress code.
Are we still treating people who dress in more material and have longer beards, with a level of superiority and privilege above others? We need to move away from this type of superiority complex. If such people expect this level service, they should consider dining at places that are more befitting to their superiority complex, instead of making others uncomfortable. It's not exactly representing the religion in good light either....
Read moreI had the pleasure of visiting Chapters for a late brunch around 3 PM on a weekday, and from the moment I stepped in, I was enchanted by its charming and aesthetically pleasing atmosphere. The pink interior added a delightful touch, creating a warm and inviting ambiance.
Upon arrival, the staff exhibited a friendly demeanor and promptly seated us. Despite the restaurant being full, luck was on our side as a recently cleaned table awaited us. I opted for the eggs Benedict, while my friend indulged in the double English breakfast. Both dishes were delightful, and we encountered no issues with the quality of our meals.
One standout feature was their brunch offer, allowing us to enjoy a complimentary hot drink until 4 PM. We seized the opportunity to savor a matcha latte and a chai latte, both served in generous portions and bursting with flavor. The extensive yet simple menu intrigued me, and I left with the desire to return and explore more of their offerings.
The only hiccup in an otherwise flawless experience was a delay in the payment process due to issues with the card machine. However, the staff handled the situation with grace, offering sincere apologies and displaying genuine kindness throughout. It's evident that such technical glitches were beyond their control.
Overall, Chapters left me with a lasting positive impression, encompassing everything from the delightful ambiance to the delicious meals and impeccable service. I look forward to revisiting and exploring more of their menu. Without hesitation, I recommend Chapters as a lovely brunch spot for anyone seeking a delightful...
