Posting this to Google because apparently Tripadvisor deletes all the bad reviews. How can they even give them awards and certificates of excellency when they poison people!! I feel so bad and people should know the truth. Tripadvisor apparently gets paid to write good reviews only and delete all the rest. So... I went with friends there and at first i really liked the place, food seemed nice, good taste etc. After the dinner i felt really terrible, had lamb and chicken and many different appetisers and two deserts. We all shared everything but it was only me and another friend who tasted the lamb, i had more than half of the dish. We both felt terrible for 2 days, throwing up and feeling constantly nauseous. We couldn't sleep the first night I even wanted to go to the hospital but thought its gonna pass soon.
It was actually packed and crowded which is surprising as when a restaurant has many people coming why keep old meat in the stock, buy less and have more fresh. I mean its like 21st century, the competition is already insane in the restaurant industry and you give old meat and products to your customers! That is outrageous. I never even write reviews but this time I decided to let people know and maybe make the restaurant management be aware of their poor actually terrible quality! I was talking to a friend the other day and she told me she had the same poisoning from Aphrodite Taverna last year, so it is already three cases that i know. She had it from the lamb as well. Maybe you need to change your meat supplier or take it out of the menu if you are gonna continue poisoning people...

We’ve been to this restaurant many times with our families, but this visit was beyond unacceptable. It took 40 minutes just to get a menu, and another 25 minutes to place our order. Half the food showed up — the rest never did. The only thing that arrived quickly? The bill.
When we told the server we wouldn’t be paying the service charge, he replied, “I can’t argue with that.” Fair enough.
Then things took a bizarre turn: the server told us his father, the chef, was offended that we didn’t order more food, saying we took up a table for four. (We made the reservation for three.) We had ordered a bottle of wine, a chicken salad, and three appetizers — and would have gladly ordered more if service hadn’t been painfully slow. I reminded him, we can order whatever we please, and the quality of service didn’t warrant that kind of attitude.
As locals and repeat customers — and someone who has worked in the service industry for years — I was absolutely shocked by the arrogance and disrespect. Instead of taking accountability or offering to comp something (as most restaurants would under these circumstances), the manager chose to argue with us. Completely unprofessional.
Food was subpar. Staff were rude. The experience was insulting. Don’t waste your time or money. Take your...
Read moreOk, admittedly I did not come to London to have Greek food, but on this cold night we stumbled into the closest and warmest looking place near the hotel. It was a fortuitous choice. Packed with regulars having animated conversations and staffed by family this Cypriot Greek restaurant brought the warmth of the mediterranean to London. Firstly they populate your table with small plates of delicious olives, peppers, pita and a mixed bean salad before the waiter even delivers the menus... how old school Greek. At this moment you know this will be an experience as well as a meal. When the menu comes it is full of delightful choices. Looking around at the large portions delivered to other tables we decided to share and chose the roast lamb with potatoes and a Greek salad, accompanied by a very acceptable glass of house red. The lamb was as good as it gets: falling off the bone into its own au jus. The potatoes too, were fork tender and accompanied by half a lemon so you could season them as desired. The Greek salad needs no explanation. It was what you expect but better. The feta did the trick, as it was excellent. For dessert we decided on yoghurt with honey and nuts to share. Oh my, the yoghurt was firm as ice cream full fat and covered with liquid honey and chopped walnuts. Wow.
Enough...
