French Tacos UK — Restaurant in London

I am putting 2 starts instead of 1 because it used to be good. I live 10 mins walk from this place and to be honest it started very well and I used to go here to treat myself once or twice a week told my family and friends about it! a friend used to come weekly from east London for it. But then the quality started going down so I slowed my purchase rate thinking they are going to pick it up but now and I Just stopped buying so did my friends and family who noticed the same thing. I always wanted to speak to the manager to let him know but Then someone who is wary about the quality of his food, should put process in place the keep the quality high. So if the intention wasn’t there to start why would my comment make any difference. But, manager if you can read this : I couldn’t finish the last 4 tacos, my last one was 2 months ago at least. Reasons:

Dry/hard fries or not fresh Way too much sauce in the Tacos Not enough sauce in the tacos very dry Uncooked or over cooked or hard meat

The shop has also deteriorated, and does not look/feel Hygienic as it was in the beginning.

I was intrigued by the many great reviews, and unfortunately have not had the same experience.

The fries were very greasy, probably fried at too low temperature as many of them were mostly raw inside. I’m including a picture of the grease-soaked salt packets.

The taco itself was very disappointing for a whopping £13 - it consisted of mostly fries, way too much sauce and very little of the ordered filling. It overall tasted like a mouthful of mayonnaise and raw potatoes.

The ‘merguez’ is unfortunately not actually a merguez, but a cheap, fatty, grainy, mix of fillers. The image attached is the entirety of the ‘merguez’ that was included in the taco.

The menu item price of ordering via deliveroo is higher than in the restaurant itself, as they essentially offload their costs of the service into the customer, making them pay twice. Given that the taco was mostly a tortilla full of undercooked fries, you are not getting any decent value for your money regardless.

Beware !!

This place is very hit or miss with everything.

The first time I ordered online, I received a perfect order of 3 tacos, fresh and saucy.

The second time they mixed up my order. Then I decided to go in person, I ordered another 3 tacos (2 from the menu and 1 custom) and the cook somehow managed to mix up the ingredients for all 3.

It wasn't a mixed up order, they were just done with random ingredients not even written on the menu. I guess the cook just wings it and puts whatever he feels like.

Whilst I was there, I heard other people (who got their order before me) complaining about their order as well.

This place is incredibly mismanaged and you can see the staff could literally not care less about the standards or service. The take away shop is also very dirty and really put me off from ordering from there again. Can only imagine what level of food hygiene they practice behind the counter.

I will definitely avoid this place...
