Lovely atmosphere, but the food and service was lacking. Had high hopes for this place as it looked cool, and had okay reviews. I figured the negative ones were people being picky, unfortunately this was not the case. I was greeted by a woman who wasn’t particularly polite or welcoming to me. I got the impression that me being there was a pain for them to deal with. I had “spicy” chicken wings, and a pulled pork burrito as unfortunately the spicy beef was not available. The chicken wings were slightly dry and bland unless you got a drop of the “spicy” -note it wasn’t really spicy at all- sauce that they actually managed to put on the wing and not the plate. I really think if you tossed these wings in that sauce there would be zero complaints here, don’t be stingy with the sauce in the future please. The burrito smelled lovely but was disappointingly bland. It had next to no flavour to it, and I could hardly taste any spice/seasoning. One thing that perplexed me was the inclusion of a ramekin of sour cream assumedly dip your burrito in. The problem with this is the moment you go to dip it the filling falls out. I honestly think the sour cream is there just so your plate doesn’t look empty, it doesn’t really serve to make your experience or dish better. Perhaps a small serving of fajita seasoned fries or a small salad would have made this a better value dish. My total bill came out to £21.82 including service charge and to be honest it was completely not worth it. The best bit about the meal was the guava Jarritos and that wasn’t even food. Unless this place makes some improvements to their practices, recipes and service I’d jump on the tube and find a Mexican place in the very centre of London that makes you feel far more welcome and actually satisfy your tastebuds.

Ambiente bastante agradável com staff muito simpático e atencioso. Comida tinha muito bom aspecto mas a nível de sabor ficou a desejar …. Faltava sabor.

I wanted to love it, as I very rarely leave non fully positive feedback, but the experience was fairly mediocre. It's a shame because 2 of the three staff were absolutely lovely... The frozen margaritas were simply wrong, without any triple sec or alternative, they were just tequila and blended ice. I received the wrong dish, with very little apologies from the third, non friendly, member of staff, who was also quite pushy for us to make an order in the first place. When suggested by one of us that they would prefer a glass without ice, he took the glass, emptied the ice on his tray right in front of us, and returned the glass back in an irritated manner. The correct dish, when arrived, was -by far- the most mediocre burrito that I've had, in any country or continent. Nevertheless, the feel of the place is lovely, most staff were lovely, and the other 3 members of our company thought that the food was 'ok'.

To whom it may concern,

I had dinner at your vauxhall location this evening and is was extremely disappointing. The service, or shall I say the lack of service, was extremely poor. Someone came to take my drink order and food order and then I had to ask for my bill to get any service. The Beef burrito was so hard and burnt to a crisp. Stuffed with tons of rice and only a hint of beef. For the price of this burrito that was so hot it had to cool for 10-15 minutes before I could eat it was awful. I also ordered the beans with chorizo, which was a soup…. No hit of whole beans and I ask the waitress if it was with Mexican chorizo before I ordered it but it tastes of Spanish chorizo soup. So I had it sent back. Once I told the manager about this and being overcharged for my drink he got very confrontational. It was clear that he was having an issue with his credit card processing machine because the gentleman sitting next to me had to be charged on two different machines. After my first process of the payment that went to my card I told him it had already gone through. At that point, he told me he would force a charge onto my card. Absolutely unbelievable. When the charge was then refunded some minutes later, I paid once again on a different machine that appeared to work properly. I’ve never been treated with such disrespect and distain from someone in a restaurant especially a manager.

I expected good food and good service. This restaurant failed on all accounts and I will certainly tell all my friends and family to stay clear of this restaurant.

Such a sad excuse from a restaurant not addressing the lack of service or treatment of a customer with the response below. It was clear there was an issue with the card machine and the manager had to use a second machine for me to pay with the same card that was declined on the first machine and what do you know it worked. Refried beans does not mean black bean soup. I should know being Mexican and eating REAL Mexican food. And a poor excuse for a burrito. You should be ashamed to use Fridas name for your restaurant. Sad and...

There is no way this place gets a 4.2-star rating based on the food and drinks.

The decor is done to a nice spec for sure, and the location is cute, being opposite the embankment so on a sunny day it's nice to sit out. The food though, is the equivalent of getting an El do paso kit and cooking it, which would probably taste better.

First time I visited I was excited to have a Mexican close by as i love soft shell tacos, I went in giddy to pretty much sample the whole menu. I was immediately disappointed as one of the staff told us they didn't have any avocados for guac or chicken for the tacos. I couldn't believe my ears!

After a moment,  we decided to order other substandard food which wasn't great. Got two kinds of Margarita's which were weak in flavour.

I thought let me give them the benefit of the doubt and tried again on a second visit. It was bad, the food is just poor, they didn't even have in house made salsas, the guacamole didn't have all the ingredients in it and whatever sauces they did have was store bought and tasted like it. The staff weren't attentive either. When I pass by and see people considering going in, in my head I'm like nooooo...
