Went for a nice little brunch, we both got pancakes - I had the fruit pancakes and my friend had american bacon pancakes. The portions were massive and the food was delicious. Flavourfull, pancakes were nice and fluffy (if youre not the biggest fan of oil I'd be careful as they were a little greasy but we didn't mind that), fruits was fresh too and the maple syrup was honestly so yummy! I got iced matcha latte with oat milk for drinks which was good as well, but I'd ask for an extra matcha shot the next time, and my friend had the pear smoothie which was more of a juice rather than a smoothie but was still good regardless (the only thing that could've been added was ice!) Staff was nice and friendly, we had to wait for a little while to get served but once we ordered everything came relatively fast! The restaurant has a back garden which is really lovely and quiet, the tent was a little dirty but nice regardless and there's lots of greenery which makes up for it. If you're in the area I definitely recommend as a cute brunch date!

Headed out for some Brunch with the family today before a walk round Hampstead Heath… 👣 As you will no doubt appreciate it was of the upmost importance that we had a hearty feed before any exercise was undertaken and we could not have asked for any better than the food the Garden Cafe were knocking up… 🥞 Mouth-wateringly fluffy pancakes, perfectly cooked streaky bacon, fresh fruit and lots of lots of sticky maple syrup 🤤🤤🤤 This went down way too easy, we were on the verge of licking our plates!! Can’t recommend this place enough!!! Give it a whirl for sure if you are in the area!! Our fave things: Big portions, great food, loads of options and great prices!! ❤️ 📍🚇 | 2 mins walk from Finchley Road tube station

not great presentation. cakes tasted nice however service was not good. we received two cups on top of each other. the cups were murkey as well. we ordered a pot of tea for two. it was so full that as soon as I picked it up boiled water over flowed on all my right-hand fingers. 2 of them are swollen and still painful after a day. when I told them, so that they're more careful next time, the waitress was not apologetic at all, didn't say a single sorry, and just smiled at my face and said thank you! will never go back there. P.S. I try to post a picture of my burnt fingers and being a local guide level 6, still Google keeps removing it every single time I post it! don't really understand why!!!

I have been there for Sunday brunch with couple of friends under someone recommendation. I cannot say it was empty, but it was not even crazy busy. Once seated, an Italian waitress approached us talking in Italian as we all are. She took our food order, but when she had to deliver the food, only 2 out of 3 items were delivered. She didn't say a word, someone else notified us that the missing item would be with us soon. We had to wait 10 minutes to have the missing item on the table, and in the meanwhile no one asked us if we wanted to keep our food under a hot lamp. After ten minutes, obviously, my and my friend's food was cold. We started to eat to find out that the avocado side was iced frozen, as if just came out from the fridge. Also, the portion of sweet potatoes was ridiculously miserable for what they charge. At the end of the meal my friend ordered Nutella pancake, advertised on the menu with mixed berries and maple syrup. With our astonishment, three plain pancakes were in the plate with a side pot of melted Nutella: no garnish at all, neither icing sugar nor maple syrup. When we asked the waitress for explanation, she simply brought us some Waitrose's maple syrup. Let's avoid the fact that pancakes tested really weird.. At the end of the meal we asked for the bill where service was not included, we don't know if that wanted to be a kind of apologies for the mess, but if so, no one said anything. The Italian waitress came to take the payment and we listed her all wrong things happened: her only answer was "I'll let kitchen know". That's it! No apologies or anything. We will definitely not be back: poor quality service and no food quality. I do not recommend this...

The food is nice and a great selection to choose from, but the service is very questionable.

I’ve visited the cafe occasionally over the last few years, and I’ve always found some of the servers to be a bit too brusque for my liking. This can be understandable when it is a busy time of day, they are not overly rude. But my recent experience was quite disappointing.

I popped by for a late 10am breakfast. The waiter took my order and my food and drink arrived in good time and was quite satisfying. However, no sooner had I finished the food and the plate was taken away - I hadn’t even finished my drink yet - when I was asked by a different waitress to give back the table to make room for others! It wasn’t a particularly busy morning, but I felt I was being pushed out because I was apparently in the way. I acquiesced and quickly downed my drink and left. I was just one person, on a table for two, but apparently I was just taking too much space. There were several other empty tables that were available. Some of them could’ve been pushed together to accommodate larger groups. I resent being pushed out after having literally just eaten, and not being allowed to pay and leave at my own pace. In total, I was ‘allowed’ to be there for about 30 mins.

In sum: Good food, quick service, but quite lacking in hospitality and I suspect putting profits before customers. I don’t think I’ll be visiting again if there’s now an added risk of being turfed out...

Very sad to write this review (first ever complaint I have written online and I hope it's the last) about my local brunch cafe that I have visited often as there are a couple of staff there who are lovely and the food is actually decent!.. however my suggesting is if your heading there, avoid the tall dark-haired grumpy manager and instead only deal with the waiting staff, he is completely unapproachable and down right rude. I suggest he gets some serious training in customer service, and fast. I assume all the good reviews of this place are from people that luckily did not have the pleasure of encountering him as he usually sits in the window with his laptop and I've never seen him serve before when I have been in, I suggest he sticks to staying in the window and not serving.

If you just want a quick brunch and don't mind being spoken to in a passive aggressive manner and treated like a cash cow then great! but if you actually value customer service and a pleasant atmosphere, I'd go 2 doors down to the Spice Deli cafe, SK Mart Korean Restaurant or across the road to 'Barista' where both the owners and staff couldn't...
