Food: The Food itself was okay, the taste was good, I enjoyed the Bulgogi that I ate!
Price: Price was okay but I did find my portion of Bulgogi Dupbab to be quite small for almost £8. However decenct pricing altogether!
Atmosphere: I think this is where the problem kicked in. The older man on the upper floor (shop floor) was very pleasant and kind. Always smiling. However the younger male on the lower floor (restaurant floor) was in a terrible mood. It made for an extremely uncomfortable dining experience. It was extremely cold downstairs, since it's a sub- level floor, which they can't control so is not their fault. But after asking if we can move next to the heater and receiving an attitude from the younger man, we then had it removed and taken away from us and put into another room whilst they simultaneously turned the heat setting of the aircon off too, so we had to keep our coats on the whole time. Furthermore after moving tables we had our menu, chopsticks and spoons thrown down next to us. Honestly, we weren't picky or demanding customers we just asked if we could move next to the heater because we were cold and then ordered our food straight after. He made it so awkward and uncomfortable. My friend who is a visitor in London is always trying to find the best places to eat before returning back to Japan, but she said this was hands down the worst customer service she had ever received since coming to London , I wouldn't visit again, just because of the younger male. I don't know if he was just having a bad day but he was really cold. He honestly made it super awkward. It was a really uncomfortable vibe. I'm kind of upset because we had read so many nice reviews about how friendly all of the staff were, I wish that was our experience too. However the man on the upper floor was very pleasant so hats off to him for making the visit a little more bearable also the older woman cooking downstairs was...
Read moreIt has been the worst dining experience we ever had in the UK.
We went to the restaurant with a toddler. We brought her own food as honestly, the food on the menu isn't really child friendly. We gave our food to our daughter once we were seated, then we got the menu and ordered food.
During the whole process of giving us the menu and ordering food, no one ever told us that outside food for toddler was not allowed. No such thing was written on the menu either. However, a very rude waitress chose to express her anger after she served the food. She used a very rude tone telling us this was unacceptable and not allowed.
Well, she could have told us the minute she saw us taking out our kid's food, or any time before we made the order, we could choose to leave the restaurant or she could discuss with us if there was any way that we could do to make this work (say order extra portion of food or pay extra charge). In any event, it was ridiculous to complain at such a late stage.
I would admit that I probably could ask for permission first but based on my experience so far, the restaurants in the UK have been very child friendly and always told us "absolutely fine" (and that's on me to have such an assumption).
Anyway if you are eating with kids, this restaurant would make you feel so bad. I heard how the same waitress making an annoying sound when she was tidying up the table which was seated by a man...
Read moreDidn't get to sample the food, the experience at walk in was rude and off putting. Arrived 6pm on a Sunday and asked for a table in mostly empty restaurant. The lady looked at her watch like she was doing us a favour since they shut at 7pm and reluctantly offers us a table but not before we scan the qr code. I try using my camera and she insists that I cannot do that and must down load the NHS app, I know that's not true but to not be difficult I'm now fiddling with registering for the NHS app, We ask can we just give our names and contact details. She refuses. Then she barks why we don't have masks. We ask how are we to eat if we're wearing masks. She says if you walk around or not at a table you must wear a mask. This is pitifully risable given that the whole place is absolutely pokey basement. You are literally an arms length away from the next person and it's taking pedantry to the deranged level to suggest that somehow you are exposing someone to higher risk than when you are sitting down. This is the final straw and...
