Never been to a Gaucho and I won't be hurrying back. A total shambles

A friend booked this on my behalf for my birthday. 10 people. When we arrived we were held upstairs in narrow and drafty corridor for 15 mins because the bar was full. Eventually sat down. A very busy night by the looks of it and the waitress was little put out even before we started. Straight in for mains. 3 of us had the gaucho sampler. Food turned up with the waitress getting fluster because the carriers was doing something not to liking.

Veg we had steam broccoli stems, chips, and cheese dish and 3 fried eggs

When we started eating but soon discovered most of food was tepid on the verge of cold. It took so long, 50 mins, we dug in but had to stop. I suspect they had been cooked but forgotten. By then it was too late to send back as it was late. It would have taken another 50 mins for us to get the food. The fired eggs arrived 10 mins after the mains were deliver but at least they were hot. Absolutely ridiculous, which was a shame as I had heard good things about the place.

Saving grace was the manger of the night came over and we had a chat but it didn't help in the fact it was my birthday and it was spoilt and I hardly ate my food. A real shame.

A couple had the filet and they said it was lovely but would have been better if it had hot.

Don't get me wrong, the steaks we all cooked perfectly well. They were just cold....

Shocking service. Birthday ruined. Left being totally ripped off. What a terrible experience. Booked a meal for our daughters 21st birthday and a catalogue of bad service from start to finish. The guy serving us had lost his voice so couldn't communicate with us other than whispering in our ear. We sat waiting for 40 minutes waiting for drinks and had to go and ask at the bar and alert the manager to get them. They'd obviously been sat at the bar for 30 mins so were just water. Despite alerting the manager to the poor service it got far worse. When the food finally arrived the order was wrong, missing items and steaks wrong. My daughters order was completely wrong so had to wait for it to be re-done and by the time it arrived our food was cold and items were still missing. One of the fillet steaks was totally inedible. Again we spoke to the manager who just kept saying he would sort things but made no intervention to make our experience less than awful. The items missing did eventually turn up with some hot but most cold and inedible. The whole experience was shockingly bad and we paid the bill just to get out of there. How you can get so much wrong is beyond me. You ruined our night, you ruined the birthday celebration, the manager just was not bothered. If you're charging those prices then up your game as McDonald's have better service than...

If you’re looking for premium Argentine cuisine in a stylish, intimate setting. Gaucho Charlotte Street is an absolute must.

We started with the smoked salmon delicately sliced, fresh, and full of flavor, paired beautifully with a crisp lemon wedge and fresh greens. A perfect light beginning.

For the main, I cannot recommend the CHURRASCO DE LOMO highly enough! This spiral-cut fillet was marinated in garlic, parsley, and olive oil, and cooked to a perfect medium rare. Tender, juicy, and bursting with flavour pure steak perfection 😋. Served with a fresh chimichurri and complemented perfectly with golden fries, broccolini with toasted almonds, and sautéed greens.

Everything was elevated by a beautiful glass of red wine, which the staff kindly recommended to match the richness of the beef.

The ambience of the restaurant is warm, sophisticated, and intimate with soft lighting, plush booths, and a chic bar area that makes it ideal for date night or a classy dinner with friends.

The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, creating a relaxed and welcoming experience from start to finish.
