I am tired of fake tik tok reviews!!! Another place that does not deliver what it’s been said! First of all it is on Godge Street not on Tottenham Court Road.
I have order a lobster special that left me feel sick on my stomach. The half lobster claimed to be fresh but was so not. I am born by the sea and I know how fresh fish looks like, as you can see in the picture, and on top of it was disappointingly small and I eat only like a little golf ball of lobster that was there.
The pasta, described as homemade, was overcooked and the receipt tasteless, I cook quiet good at home and was massively disappointed, and on top of it I had to top it up with so much parmesan and salt to give some taste but even like this was not nice. It felt like was rushed and no passion to food! It’s pasta at the end of the day, you either have it or you don’t.
They overcook them because they are cooking too many portion of pastas daily and they are rushing.
The atmosphere it’s stressful as all people working there are moving fast, some for no reason, and the place it’s small so was quite tiring, I felt tired and stressful there!
The pricing was also misleading, with hidden charges for the pasta and an the guy at the till asked if I want large portion and then you get a drink for it, but was pointless cuz it’s way too much. The large costs 2.95£ the drink costs 2£.
I think they are using some marketing strategies on their take away boxes, I feel like the small box looks smaller than the food on the plate small size, because the small size box looks really small and the large one looks really big.
Additionally,I have ordered bread was not nice and they put a mixed of two very different breeds like pita bread and then toast bread, brown one. Super confusing.
The total coast was: 36.19£ Lobster special x 26.45£ 42 x tagliatelle- 1.50£ Large portion x 2.95£ Parmesan on the side x 1£ Bread x 2.50£ Service charge 3.29£
I was upset and embarrassed to ask for a refund but thanks god the guy at the till asked if I like my pastas… I said no, I explain to him what I don’t like and he seem quiet nice to refund my money, however, I told him please keep the money for parmesan, bread and drink… and you can refund me there rest, I thought to myself, that’s nice!
When he refund me the money I didn’t realise how many extra costs he didn’t transfer to me back… I only saw when I got home as I have disabilities and I was stressed already and embarrassed… somehow I am still -10£, he only refunded the lobster basically…. I was happy to pay the drink bread and parmesan and that will bring no me to a total of 5£
I don’t know if I am ever going to go back as they tricky, not happy that didn’t refund me service charge, I was in there 10 mins, not happy that they did not refund me the pasta money and neither large portion … you know what I mean….
Don’t get yourself tricked that the guy at the till he is nice and friendly cuz he tricks you, you know Italians are big hustlers!
I will be going back there to try one more portion, something without meat … just to connivance myself but just know when I place it’s off! I will probably ask them to take the service charge out!
So all I can say be careful what you order and be careful at your money! Don’t get fooled like me! The lobster it s not fresh, check the eyes of the fish in the picture, and for this money you can go fine danning Italian...
Read morePaStation offers a customisable menu in which you pick your favourite pasta shape and sauce. Food comes out very quickly. My fresh bucatini was done well, though my husband’s dry pasta was on the cusp of being underdone instead of al dente. Generally speaking, the flavours were alright and passable. However, what was truly unimpressive was being nickel-and-dimed as a customer.
The service charge is unjustified at this establishment, which feels like a fast-food joint. You order at the counter and pay immediately, bring your own drinks and set your table yourself with paper placemats and napkins. In the US, where tipping culture is heavily ingrained, many Americans would not tip at this type of restaurant because you’re not being waited on. The only “service” you receive here is a staff member bringing your food to your table. They don’t bother coming back to enquire if you want to garnish your pasta with Parmesan cheese because, guess what? They ask you in advance when you’re ordering at the counter and charge you an inflated £1—without informing you—for the privilege when other Italian restaurants will do it at your table sans tacking it to your bill. Had I been the one to order, I would’ve been more discerning, but my husband is not the type to question things, which is what these restaurants hope for when utilising such tactics. We felt a little duped when we looked at our receipt. Additionally, we considered the fact that if you wanted to remove the discretional service charge, you’d be doing so before even receiving your food, which would probably make many customers feel uneasy.
If this kind of practice doesn’t bother you, then by all means, give this place a go. There was nothing distasteful with our meal nor the demeanour of staff members. Mostly, the notion of an automatic service charge is touchy for me, especially when it is paid prior to knowing what kind of service will be rendered. In this case, the bare minimum table service wasn’t even offered, which is why we left behind their loyalty card, since we don’t...
Read moreReally lovely and warm little eatery I had the pleasure of visiting today for a late lunch on a Saturday. They had indoor and outdoor seating, but do be prepared to wait as it does get busy. We, however, were seated indoors when we arrived. I was greeted with the lovely aroma of fresh pasta and there was a man who I assumed was the manager/owner, who warmly welcomed us in Italian and asked our server Marianna to show us to our table. Marianna showed us how to order - you choose from fresh or dry pasta in various shapes and then from their menu of different sauces. I selected the pistachio pesto with king prawns served with fresh rigatoni, and it arrived with grated parmesan served in a stainless steel pan (love stainless steel cookware!). I also ordered some bruschetta, which was delicious - the cherry tomatoes were sweet and cut through the saltiness of the parmesan. The pistachio pesto was delicate, and the prawns were huge! It all felt luxurious - one of the more pricier dishes on their menu and worth it. The rigatoni was al dente and filling; pesto was silky, delicious, seasoned well; the prawns were well cooked and they didn't scrimp on how many they put in, and it all arrived rather quickly as I'd ordered fresh pasta. All in all came to under £30 as I ordered a large portion which came with a free drink, the bruschetta and all the service charge, etc. Marianna looked after us and had a smile throughout our experience. She went around to everyone's table, giving everyone a Ferrero Rocher :) The chicken and beef are halal, and even their tiramisu has an alcohol free version - I'd be happy to come back and try other dishes because I saw how delicious everyone else's food looked. Grazie, PaStation, you'll see...
