Only stopped for dessert, a tiramisu, as another reviewer previously rated it highly. My curiousity led me to book a table at Agrodolce, a restaurant which seems great taking into account that many other people contributed to its' excellent 4.9/5 score. However, I would say my experience wasn't particularly great. I'm not sure why coming in to order just one thing is seen by staff to be such an inconvenience considering that I am still paying for what I've ordered, and the restaurant isn't even near being fully booked. This made me feel quite uncomfortable for a few moments until I realised that I'm still a paying customer, and that I'm not doing anyone a disservice. The tiramisu itself came in a regular portion, it was very creamy and rich as it was mostly made of mascarpone. The taste, however, wasn't memorable nor sweet so I probably wouldn't recommend ordering it. Moving forward, I would personally like to come across staff that are more open minded when it comes to situations like this, as I believe this would also benefit the restaurant. Why lose a potential returning customer by making them feel uncomfortable about their choices? P.S. After reading other people's reviews I am now also wondering about the validity of this restaurant's excellent rating. It also appears that most of the latest reviews are left by people who have only ever reviewed one place - this one. For whoever is reading this and was interested in dining at Agrodolce, my suggestion is to just pick a different Italian restaurant.

Overall a fairly pleasant experience; however, for a Fitzrovia Italian spot it perhaps slightly missed the mark. At a late lunch time, there seemed to already be a changing of staff for the supper service, as such service seemed slightly slow. Additionally, the restaurant is new and staff seemed to be learning so this is a positive to look forward to a polished experience in the future. I came for the Sunday Brunch menu, which was very competitively priced at £56.50 including SC. I was swiftly provided the first of two glasses of Prosecco which was delightful. I chose the tartare, truffle tagliatelle and tiramisu. For me, the tartare was not great, the truffle cheese sauce was slightly overpowering, it was under seasoned, and lacked some acidity. Some sort of cracker or the like would have complemented it exceptionally. The truffle tagliatelle was the standout. The flavours were perfectly balanced, there was no holding back on the truffle although it was a shame that there was not parmigiano to add to the dish. To top it all off and a true highlight that everyone must order was the exceptional and bottomless tiramisu. It was a decent experience; however, at the price and up market feel of the place I would like some extra richness and quality to compete with the local established Italian spots. I was not a fan of the background music either.

Disappointing... We stopped here for dinner whilst in London for an event. We only booked the place based on online reviews, and it just shows how people's expectations are SO different. We arrived to a fairly quiet restaurant and as we had travelled for a while I had to use the toilet, which took me past the kitchen - where all the chefs were leaning on the cookers whilst on their phones. Not a good look. We ordered some starters and I had the focaccia which was bone dry and not very nice. The olive oil was off... For mains I had the fillet steak, and the waiter never asked me how I wanted it cooked. I assumed it would be medium rare as this is standard at most restaurants I have been to. Unfortunately my steak was well done when it landed and I could not help thinking that the chef was still on his phone downstairs. The waitress then managed to spill a bottle of water over me which wasn't great. We were offered a free desert but declined as we just wanted to leave at the end. The place was disorganised, the food was mediocre and it was pricey...£131 for 2 starters and 1 main + drinks (they did take the steak off the bill) which makes the prices even more appalling.

Very disappointing experience. We walked into this restaurant just before 7 p.m. without a booking and were told we'd have an hour for a table. Fair enough, until I stepped outside, checked the website out of curiosity, and saw that I could book a table online for 7:00 p.m. (it was literally 6:55 p.m. at the time). I booked it online straight away and called to confirm. They told me the table was ready. They said yes. When I walked back in, the same lady (red hair) suddenly told me there had been a cancellation which was strange, since I was standing right next to the tablet they use for bookings, and there was no new notification or alert. The whole situation felt dishonest and unnecessary. I honestly felt that it was a race issue. Once seated, I noticed there were quite few empty tables around us during the entire meal, so the ''one-hour wait'' explanation didn't really add up or made any sense. To make matters worse, there was a woman who loudly said behind the counter that she would break a bottle over someone's head which could sound threatening for someone who does speak the language (Italian). Hearing that from a manager, out of all people, was completely unprofessional and made the atmosphere very uncomfortable. To be fair, the food was really good, the the service, attitude, and behavior of staff completely ruined what could have been a pleasant evening. And finally, as we were leaving, we politely thanked and greeted the waitress only to receive a very obvious and sarcastic response in return. That really summed up the experience rude, dismissive and lacking any sense of...

The food was only ok. Marginally better than cooking at home if you're not an amazing cook. I normally don't leave reviews but I feel like I should leave one here because I picked this restaurant based on it having 4.9 stars and had super high expectations. I really dont understand... HOW!!? The only explanation is these reviews must be bought. So I feel like I have to call this place out. We order the brushcetta, along came three half pieces of stodgey half baked staled, one was topped with a stodgey potato cream which has the texture of glue topped with a non crispy piece of bacon, the other was a truffle cream which was not bad to be fair and only one was topped with cherry tomatoes like what you would expect and the tomatoes themselve being quite sweet was pretty much the best thing on the place. It was not good! The two pasta dishes we order was ok but underwhelming nothing you can't make at home. The agrdodulce salad we order came undressed so you have to dress your own salad which is weird and the orange slices had tonnes of pips in them. The service was friendly enough the managers seem knowledge but the waiters need a bit more experience. Not super attentive. Our pasta was set down without and cutlery we had to ask. There are better Italian places in the area. I would definitely recommend any other restaurants on Store street in the area...
