Delicious modern Italian food. Veal and pork ragu pasta was great - the ragu itself was very tender and had neutral taste but the whole flavour was boosted by Monk’s head cheese and the complete taste was great. The pasta itself was freshly made and thus had the special bite. Wild mushroom silk handkerchiefs pasta was good although I would not repeat it. Beef carpaccio was fairly average - too small portion and the meat was faded away by the sides. The fried parcels of prosciutto and cheese were nice and the basil mayo boosted it. Overall the portion sizes for the starters were small. Wine selection was fairly modest but fine overall. The wine glasses were disappointing as the stem was super short and the wine was warming up from my hands. Chocolate and hazelnut budino unexpectedly was served in crème brulee style with the sugar crust. But it was delicious and I would easily repeat it. Olive oil panna cotta did not have any olive oil taste and was just dominated by citrus flavours - like peel, yuzu, and was not to my taste at all. Overall the food was tasty and the experience was pleasant. What disappointed me was that they included service charge and then also slip the terminal with the selection of the tip amount, as if no service charge is included by default. Some spots nowadays don’t include service charge at all and this place wants to charge double service charge by calling it different words and trying to confuse the guests. If that happens to me again on my second visit, my rating would...
Read moreI booked this restaurant for Mother’s Day, but the experience was disappointing from start to finish, when I tried calling three times to amend the reservation, no one picked up, so we stuck with the original booking to avoid any charges, even though we were running slightly late. Service was terrible, with just one person managing an entire section of around 25 diners, and it took 15 minutes after being seated for someone to even take our order. The complimentary Prosecco for mums on Mother’s Day was a nice touch but was served warm, and while the food looked good, it completely lacked flavour. The brown butter cacio e pepe had no pepper at all even though it is the main ingredient (see pic) - I had a look at other pictures of reviews online and it looks like the one I was served was very different than what they normally dish out as it tasted more like a bland mac and cheese, the strozapretti had no hint of lemon as described, and the tuna was completely overpowered by olive oil, making it the only thing I could taste. When I actually got to eatin my food I noticed my fork was dirty and covered in dried on food, I had to get up to the bar and ask for a new one because it was so difficult to get anyones attention. The white napkins also left white lint all over my black trousers. Overall, the slow service and lack of flavour in every dish made this a really disappointing meal, especially for a special occasion, and I wouldn’t return based...
Read moreWe had a fabulous night at Noci in Richmond. We are tricky customers as we had two vegetarians and one gluten free person in the group. To start, we had the focaccia and olives. The focaccia is to die for—light and fluffy with a flavour I am still dreaming about! Lovely salty, creamy green olives—the perfect kind. We had the endive salad, and oh my goodness, the dressing on that salad takes it to the next level. I only wish it had been a slightly larger portion. I had the brown butter cacio e pepe pici which was absolutely delicious. Perfectly al dente and the sauce clung to every morsel, not tasting of butter at all. We also had the wild mushroom silk handkerchiefs, with just about the right earthiness of the wild mushrooms The gluten free option which was the brown butter Casio de Pepe was a little restrictive and may need a rethink by the head chef. It could have done with a different pasta that stuck to the sauce however it was still pretty tasty. Now let’s talk about the desserts, the chocolate and hazelnut badino was absolutely scrumptious, not too creamy with a hint of hazelnut and a warmed chocolate crust. All in all, a wonderful evening made even better with attentive service from the waitress. A huge shoutout to Ben, the manager who was receptive and exemplary in his attention. Here's a little secret...they have a £15 lunch menu and you know I’ll be back for that! Thank you for a...
