I’ve been in this place many times before, and I am sorry to have to leave this review now. But it was upsetting to go there on the hottest day of the year, pay an overpriced soft drink and when I asked for ice I’ve been told “we don’t have ice sorry”, the next person to purchase right after me ordered an Iced coffee and they didn’t have anything to say! I waited and asked again to someone else, and I’ve been lied on my face again “we don’t have ice, sorry”, when I literally could see how many iced coffees were being handed in front of me. I am sorry but DO BETTER, you cannot get more miserable than this! Something like ice, doesn’t cost you anything, you can do it for free with tap water! But besides that, it is the attitude that bothers, don’t lie to customers, just be honest and maybe say “we are running out of ice and are serving it just for iced coffee”. I would have been absolutely sweet about it, and probably buy an iced coffee. I had to throw the drink away because it was hot, on a day with very high temperatures! . Hope this review makes you realise how...
Read moreQuite disgusted that after many years of using this café during my cycling trips around Richmond that they refused to accept my loyalty card stamps as they were spread over 4 cards. They claimed that they can’t afford to issue new cards to customers if they forget them so they only accept points over a maximum of 2 cards. When you consider what the profit must be £4.50 they charge for a mocha and £4 for a coffee and the card must literally cost pennies to print, this is farcical!! Well I hope they think their reasoning is worth it. That’s the last time I have a coffee here for sure, and the same for my cycling buddies. If you are going to have a loyalty scheme then accept it and honour it, don’t look for excuses to disallow it. I’m personally not that desperate that I have to have the loyalty treat but it is a bit of fun to have a small reward occasionally.
I hope they are glad their childish behaviour has lost them a loyal group of...
Read moreLovely place to sit and have a coffee or a bite to eat! Lots of variety for both sweet and savoury options. The cakes all looked delicious, and even the takeout boxes and cutlery were biodegradable which was great to see! Although I'd already brought my own cutlery, so it would have been nice to be asked if I needed any in the first place, but this might just be because it was really busy when I visited.
The staff were lovely and helpful, and even though the queue was very long we were served surprisingly quickly! The covid precautions here seem really good, and the queue is comfortably distanced despite the narrow indoor space. There's a lot of chairs and tables outside, but at busy times it might still be hard to find a seat, especially as people move the chairs to other spots so sometimes there are tables without chairs.
I was only stopping by for a brief sit down with my friend but I'd love to visit again and try some other things...
