Avoid this shop if possible some of the staff members are corrupt. Well, this is my personal experience. Two weeks ago I visited the shop for the first time and ordered a portion of regular fries for £4.90p, which at the time I thought was a little expansive, but when I saw the customer service staff filling up the con to max I believed it was good value for money. When I took it home it took both me and my mother to finish it. Well tonight, I visited the shop again and this time there were 3 different customer service staff members two Indian/Bengali origins and the other of Chinese/Vietnamese descent. Moving forward, on this occasions I ordered the larger portion which is £5.90p, but to my shock when my order was ready to purchase, I noticed there were barely 12/15 chips in the box (con) to be precise, I swiftly told the staff member handing me my order, “this is not possible? I explained how just two weeks ago I ordered regular chips and the box was filled to the max? To my astonishment the staff member of Chinese/Vietnamese descent quickly offered me a refund which I obviously accepted, I believe he did it because he knew I was right and that there were other customers in the shop witnessing the whole incident. The two Indian staff members appeared to be totally ashamed and embarrassed for being caught out trying to rinse me. I then left the shop and walked barely 20 yards down and bought large fries from McDonald’s. I am extremely angry and hugely disappointed how these staff members tried conning me. I am not a person who leaves reviews, but on this occasion I believe I must make other members of the public aware about it so that they do not fall victim of fraudulent practices. If it was up to me I would not even give one star to their service and definitely do not advice anyone to purchase from these fraudulent sale assistants, it’s better you go to McDonalds, Nando’s or numerous Turkish kebab shops up and down Dalston and Stoke Newington.
Now, I have just got a response from the team to my review, and they lying outright about the events that took place. Like I expressed in my initial review, I ordered large chips and to my shock I was presented with just 12/15 pieces of chips in the (con) to be precise. When I raised the question to the staff, I was told “THIS IS THE LARGE PORTION” at no time was I told “WE WILL NOW FRY A SECOND PORTION” which alone is nonsense as it’s usually fried at once. But even then I would have waited to see the results. These guys are lying and trying to be smart again in their reply. Facts are for some reason or other you tried conning me full amount of £5.90p but did not fill the con even half way only you can answer me and others reading my review why you did it???? Dear readers, I reiterate, I also mentioned to them how I visited the shop two weeks ago ordering regular fries and that customer service member fried the whole order at once and like I said “IT TOOK ME AND MY MOTHER TO FINISH IT” The three of you were acting all innocent as if you don’t know what I am talking about. Shame on you! I even tried describing out your colleague who served me 2 weeks ago but the three of you were putting up an act of innocence. I repeat at NO TIME did you say we will now fry another portion so Don’t Lie!! Also I buy from Best Turkish and Super Kebab etc and never had a problem. I have absolute no reason to defame you. I purchased two weeks ago and had no issue. But this bunch of customer service staff are corrupt and liars so previous 1400 reviews are misleading.
You shamelessly ask me why would we do it? Well you tell me and everyone?????
I witnessed and heard everything you said. I saw the 12 pieces of chips you added in the large con and I also heard with my own ears THAT’S THE LARGE PORTION” so don’t lie!
It also seems you either have a problem understanding or are outright shameless. For the umpteenth time, had you said “WE WILL FRY ANOTHER PORTION TO COMPLETE ORDER” I would have had no problem to wait and see it. But you did not. You offered me refund...
Read moreThe service was good, everything was good, the atmosphere was also nice, but the food was just terrible. I am a regular customer there, but today I went there, a cashier there asked me a lot of questions, I repeated them all, he gave me wrong answers, I ordered a piece of döner chips, the chicken was not cooked, I asked for it not to be spicy, there was a lot of garlic sauce in it, but it was very little, the cashier did not treat me well, he spat on me while talking to me, so I told him to slow down, I had a card like this, they give you a card to get free drinks and free food, I told him to give me a free drink, he did not, then he said there were student discounts, he said could you do that, he did not, I said to him, why am I a student, he said no, I do not believe you, he said, I am a regular customer here, I come here all the time, you are a new soldier, please call someone else to take care of me, he said to me, no, I am taking care of this place right now, he said, I do not believe you, he said, I am 15 years old, they ate raw chicken right now, I cannot eat that, I have a spicy allergy, so when you go there, you really should Speak well, really, until someone understands you. I said I was good, I said you were talking to me, but I guess they didn't understand me or didn't want to understand me. I'm eating all the raw chicken right now. I mean, if you want to get food poisoning, I'll go eat...
Read moreThe potato chips were described as 'amazing' by my colleague, so I decided to try them. They were too dry. The mark of a great chip is being able to eat it without having to add anything to it.
Later in the week, I tried the Chips Box (with jerk powder seasoning, chipotle, garlic aioli and all veg topping) and was still unimpressed. The chips were still dry and all the sauces did not help as they were all variations of mayonnaise. (Nothing is worse than mayonnaise on greasy food. I suppose yoghurt costs more. (German Doner Kebab cut corners the same way.)) The all veg toppings were a little sliced spring onion, a few sliced jalapeños and a little sliced onions, of which the amount was too little and did not provide the requisite balance. There was so much going on (jerk, chipotle, garlic, etc.) I couldn't taste anything in particular. The only consolation is that the presentation was nice and it was not overpriced. If these new-generation establishments position themselves as more premium than the old-style kebab establishments they need to do it right without...
