Back after the reopening and honestly it wasn't that good. Certainly has lost its touch. Something has indeed changed.
The customer greeting was nice, prep was rather slow even with 4 people working.
The burrito chicken meat was very bland and missing the grilled char that it used to have. Zero taste.
No coriander rice. Pinto beans were tough and bland. Romaine lettuce, exchanged for rough cuts of iceberg.
Overall really disappointing reopening in Dalston. 😔
Back to homemade for me.
-5 years ago Happy about this location in East London. It is a rather large one too. The portions are nice, food is hot and staff are super friendly. The wrapping can be a bit dodgy though. I witnessed a manager totally screw up someone's burrito when wrapping it. I think he knew he did too. No fun getting a burrito that isn't wrapped properly and I don't do badly wrapped burritos.
The order online service could be better here. I ordered online via the Tortilla site and it wasn't ready when I arrived. I guess they do not get many online orders from their own site so no on bothered to check the till until I arrived and requested my order. It was made quickly but nonetheless the whole experience wasn't a time saver.
This will be my local Tortilla. Not usually that busy when I go so I hope it doesn't close due to lack of business....
Read moreThis is my second time ordering from Tortilla, my first time I got it delivered to my house. When I ordered it the tortilla tasted horrible, but this time the tortilla was really nice. The place was spacious and clean.
The service felt a bit rush and the waiter didn’t really give me enough time to decide what I wanted even though there wasn’t anyone else in the line. I ordered a burrito with coriander rice, chicken, cheese, salsa, lettuce and sweetcorn.
You have lots of different food options to choose from such as a burrito, baked burrito, quesadilla, tacos, salad bowl, and nachos. The portion size of the tortilla was on the smaller side, so it’s not quite filling, I don’t think it is worth the money that you spend. The burrito cost me £8.60 and it wasn’t that big.
If you have money to spare Tortilla is not a bad option, but if you don’t have money to spare Tortilla may not be the best place. I will order from here again though, probably just not in the...
Read moreThe food was enjoyable, but the service left a lot to be desired. The staff were rude and unhelpful, showing little interest in assisting customers.
When I enquired about allergens, I was simply told to scan a QR code, which provided only basic information on common allergens like milk and eggs. The staff had no knowledge of specific ingredients and seemed indifferent to my concerns. One of the servers even ignored me twice when I asked her direct questions.
To top it off, the toilets were in a terrible state—someone had urinated all over the seat and floor, which clearly hadn’t been cleaned. When mentioned to staff they again seemed completely unconcerned.
Overall, the poor service and lack of attention to hygiene really overshadowed the meal. I was left wondering what the hygiene standards in the kitchen...
