I used to go here years ago, but since then I have had Uber Eats deliver food from here on a some rare occasions.

In the beginning, this place was generally quite good, with an open kind of setting and plenty of tables of various sizes available. I liked the moody and dull lighting, and it was fun to sit down and share a few peanuts or something. It is quite expensive to eat here and in recent years I have not been able to justify the expense, so I don’t eat here much now, but I used to enjoy that it wasn’t as busy as places like Nando’s, and one could just sit and relax with a bunch of friends and not be in a hurry to leave. Of course, it all depends on when you visit because I am sure there are times when it gets busy (such as the weekend), but on an ordinary weekday, this place has plenty of tables available. The place looks clean and well maintained, so one can relax and not worry about the place being filthy. As for the food, there is a good selection of burgers and they are cooked to taste (medium, well done etc), and there are also vegan options. The food is well cooked and pleasant but for the price, one cannot expect any less really. Having said that, I am disappointed that the buffalo burger is no longer available as it is a leaner meat, and somewhat healthier than the beef burgers they serve. That was my favourite burger, and it is disappointing that those seem to be off menu now. They have different types of fries as well, and I used to like their sweet potato ones, which were nice and crispy, and make a great change from the usual fare. Their milkshakes are worth trying because for my money, they beat a lot of similar offerings from other restaurants.

While there are other restaurants in the centre, I think this offers a nice break and is tucked away neatly on the top floor, away from the bustle and bustle of other parts of the mall. Since most people probably visit the place occasionally, it is worth the money. I have not been in the actual restaurant for years, but I have ordered food from here on a few occasions using Uber Eats, as an occasional treat, and I must remark, the quality of the food is still high and their milkshakes are truly great. In the end, it is quite expensive for a burger joint and Stratford has no shortage of them. McDonalds is on the lower ground floor and is cheaper. The Burger King is in the old Stratford Mall right outside Westfield. There is also Wendy’s, KFC and another McDonalds at the Broadway, and although GBK offer premium burgers, I think the other restaurants beat them on price, so if you don’t have the money to spare, I think there are some good alternatives. I am cutting down on burgers and fries so for me, GBK is Ok for an occasional treat, but if you like burgers and fries more often, your wallet will thank you for choosing an alternative outlet for your burger fix. I think the premium Burger King Burgers give GBK a good run for its money because they are cheaper and l most as good, so be mindful of...

If you are thinking of coming here and came across this post, I highly encourage you to reconsider, or if not, try to get a seat near the bar and make sure you watch them pour your beer.

We ordered a beer which we had to send back - the beer had a few sips before we realized it might've been the wrong beer.

After the beer was sent back, we noticed that the returned beer had been sitting on the bar ( our seat had great vision of the bar and hence noticed that). We felt weird but and continued to observe.

After a while during the entire time when the returned beer was still sitting in the bar, we noticed that, on receiving an order for beer, the same returned beer had been filled up on top of the remaining returned beer, by the same bartender who got the returned beer at the bar, and being put out to be served to another customer. We literally cannot believe our eyes.

The bartender was the same person who took back the returned beer and had full knowledge of the beer being a returned beer ( the server told her about it and then later on came back to talk to us about the situation of the retuned beer, so she definitely have full knowledge of the situation of that beer). We are simply baffled by how unhygienic it is, and moreover how unethical this whole practice is, in particular with the entire situation with covid.

In short, we felt so, so, so sorry for that poor customer who got that beer, but at the same time was sort of glad we got a seat at the bar to witness this whole thing - we are sure that we will never be back, and is compelled that we have to share what we witnessed.

If you do, make sure to never, ever order any draught beer from them. Or just never visit them - no burger is going to trump any unethical bartender and their disgusting practice of practically ignoring the health and safety of...

I am absolutely appalled at the treatment and service we received recently at the Westfield (Stratford) GBK. Staff theft of customer belongings - I had with me a hand painted mug, a gift from my friend. When we left the table, I accidentally left it behind on the table, realising no more than 5 seconds after leaving the restaurant that I had left it behind. I quickly turned around and returned to the table, where it had gone missing (please bare in mind the restaurant was quiet, and at this point, closed to any more customers). I went to the counter and two members of staff looked startled and awkward. I asked the lady where my mug was she looked embarrassed, did not say anything. I then turned to her colleague, and said ‘I want to know where my mug is’. She went and then got it from an unknown area to me, and returned it with a chip in it. I am absolutely appalled that a member of your team would proceed to be so opportunistic and steal a customer belongings, and not return them to us whilst we were in eye sight. Not only this - they whitnessed me walk back to the seat and did not offer to return it. It was only when pressed it was retuned - clear and blatant theft. Temperature of food - our chips were cold and we had to send them back to be warmed up General service appalling. The same lady to who stole the mug gave us our chips and when some of them spilled stated ‘atleast it was only a couple of them’. Additionally, our burgers arrived 10 minutes apart despite them being paid for on the same check.

I am absolutely appalled that a member of your own staff team would steal a customers property, and return it without an apology, instead acting sheepishly knowing they had been caught. The service was abysmal. Food...

GBK has changed a lot over the years. This large branch in the Westfield Centre is typical of the way they are these days. Order by App or via a little console on the table. This is a plus, never used to like ordering at the till. On the negative, the menu isn’t as interesting these days, they’ve gone down the modern ‘smash’ burger trend and have less of the traditional type. The ultra skinny fries were also a sad loss and the sauces are much smaller. Anyway, that said, the burgers are still good and pretty reasonably priced. Tasty too. Order it rare and that’s how it comes, plump and pink and juicy. What I really come here for though are the onion rings and the baconnaise sauce. Those are fantastic. The onion rings are no longer stacked by size, but I don’t mind that - that coating…. Yum. The beer was Cruzcampo, Manchester’s own Spanish lager. Overall a decent experience- quick and efficient service and tasty food. Quiet too, for 4pm on a Saturday.

Permanently lost a customer. I waited 20 minutes which had a queue of 10 people with the restaurant half empty, filled with dirty tables. I then had to queue again to order my food, which took another 20 minutes. The staff messed up my order which was as simple as it gets: just a burger with blue cheese and chips. The burger came overcooked. I had to bring it back to the kitchen myself and ask for a new one. The new one didn’t have the cheese on it. I didn’t get my drink so I went to the bar and asked for it myself. I got it in the end. The meal was pathetic. For £3 for a side of chips, I got about 10 chips, which have been cooked a looong time ago. I left the meal hungry. So many corners are cut with staffing, quality, the method of ordering and design. No wonder the Nando’s is packed and this isn’t. I’m never coming back. Waste of £11.50 and an hour of my time.

Holy crabs the food was amazing the chicken(not always halal in restaurants so found that amazing) and the vegan(obviously) food was halal. So me and my older brother checked out the chick chick boom burger. And it was a straight 5/5 even though it might have lacked spice( coming from an Asian kid it wasn't spicy as all),but the flavour talked on its own. And I liked the fusion of the chicken being hot and the vegetables being cold so it didn't burn my tongue. The chicken inside the burger had crispy yet very premium taste to it for the price of £9.65 it was really worth it. By the way I am not being biased . I come from a British Bengali Muslim background. So I have a mixture of what's worth the price 😉customer service was really nice they had really good manners as well. I would 100% recommend it.
