I’m not one to post negative or even mid reviews but this has to be posted based on my negative experience at the Grand Somsa. Honestly such a shame as the food was decent and looked good (though, nothing special in terms of flavour, some dishes were quite bland) but the customer service here is absolutely appalling!! Came here on the 21st of August 2025, booked for 9pm. I came with a couple of friends, really looking forward to my first time trying ‘Uzbekistani’ cuisine. We came just under 15 mins late as suitable parking was difficult to find (shop located infront of a main road). Bear in mind, we already pre-ordered the food and most restaurants offer a 15 min grace period so we assumed it should be okay. As soon as we walked in, we were met with this unwelcoming ‘jokey’ attitude about being late and although the fault was on our part, the waiter seemed quite annoyed with us about it, quite strange in my opinion as the delay was nothing inconvenient and we ordered a good amount of food. Surely we should receive a warm welcome but maybe I’m sounding a little too entitled. Anyway, after the meal, we went to pay and honestly the negative attitude from the waiter / cashier was just disgusting. I know you had a hard long day mate but customer service is key. Bad attitude and sluggishness should not be tolerated if your job is in customer service. He was telling us to hurry up paying as the shop was closing (HILARIOUSLY there was another group of Uzbekistani looking people still dining on the table next to us, quite obviously customers!!). We felt like we were being rushed out and as if we were stopping him going home. Anyway, after that blunt and cold encounter, I decided to ask about the cake on display because it looked quite appetising. I asked my friends if they wanted a slice, and we needed a minute to decide. Whilst doing so, I could feel dragon breath huffing over us, as if we committed a felony against this waiter at the till, as if i inappropriately looked at his wife, as if I stole the last doller he had left in his fanny pack. He looked so fed up honestly. We still decided to buy the cake and we vacated the shop. In all seriousness, I will never be returning to this place where customers are not welcomed. I will be warning others against visiting this disgrace of an...

For those patrons in the know, they are associated with a particular Halal Meat Shop which I have been visiting for several years now. Read moreThis was my first time trying Uzbek food and I loved it. The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere with lovely workers. They were very helpful and kind to every customer. My experience felt so homey and I was very relaxed.
Me and my two friends came to this place and tried the palov, manti and the noodle dish with beef. It was packed with flavour and the food felt like home. They provide you with three different salad including carrots, tomato cucumber salad and cabbage as complimentary items.
To top it all of, the workers made my experience even better since they kept asking me if I liked the food, if everything is alright. For three people, the bill came up to £53 which I think was quite affordable for so much items. I will definitely...
