Grillville Review
Good food but Fine Dining Price
Grillville is obviously a good quality restaurant.
However, reviews must consider the context of price in proportion to quality and service.
Baring in mind, the Grillville breakfast is the most expensive I've ever had, plus a 12% service charge.
They have a lot to live up to. My review must take into consideration what I have had to pay.
Often businesses must decide wether pricing is going to be set at ‘treat’ or one-off visit price. Or at a every day price where you could pop by daily or multiple times in a week. I dont think Grillville met either brief.
Each breakfast item was of good quality and well cooked at a cost £15.49 + service charge. The freedom breakfast in wetherspoon is £2.99. One may say, you get what you pay for. However, i have had similar quality breakfasts for £12 with no service charge.
When I arrived I mentioned i wanted a low carbohydrate breakfast. I suggested having an extra sausage, instead of the potatoes and toast. However, the waitress made no suggestions or offer to give me two items in place of the two items I removed. This is what would usually happen in other places that don't charge as much.
in Short, i really enjoyed my breakfast, but was unhappy with what I paid
Grillville is fine, if money is no object. But if money is no object, why not just buy a Bentley.
Thank you so much for your reply. I really appreciate you taking the time read and respond to customer feedback. After reading reviews and seeing your responses, this is what made me initially decide to try out Grillville. However, we didn't even have a coffee or an orange juice because of the prices. I therefore have to concede that Grillville is an excellent establishment, but just out of my price range - You can't...

While the food at this establishment is consistently good, it unfortunately doesn’t make up for the rude and unwelcoming behaviour of the staff and owner. This was my second negative experience, despite being a regular customer who often pops in for coffee or a meal.
On this visit, the owner made us feel uncomfortable from the moment we arrived. We were a group with three young children (two three-year-olds and one six-year-old), and rather than creating a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere as advertised, we were met with constant reprimands. The children were told off multiple times for standing on the sofa, touching the nearby window, and simply being children. We were given disapproving looks each time the owner passed by our table.
I was even asked not to help myself to sauces and was refused additional ice and tissues after a small spill—being told we had already been given some. The constant hovering and repeated corrections created an unrelaxed, stressful atmosphere for everyone at our table.
The final straw was when I was told my children don’t usually behave this way and perhaps it was the influence of their little friend—who is under 3 years old. When I reminded the owner that this is a busy, family-oriented location where families often bring young children, I was told that “children do not make a mess and sit quietly”—a completely unrealistic and unkind statement in this context.
It’s truly disappointing to receive this kind of treatment in a place that claims to be family-friendly. No matter how good the food is, I won’t be returning after...
Read moreWe heard amazing things about GrillVille so we decided to try on a Sunday for some takeaways while watching a football game, as our household has three men and myself and as I am outnumbered I had the pleasure to visit this little cosy restaurant to order and pick up, the staff are so helpful and pleasant, I had the honour of meeting the young charming owner by the name of Sargon Michael and asked him what would he recommend for my men at home to eat since he is their age, I ordered what he recommended plus few other things to try and I was amazed by his honesty, he suggested that we will be full and advised that I shrink my order which I thought was unusual as unlike big businesses he isn't keen to sell you more, we went for their beef burgers, chicken wings, onion rings, salmon and avocado salad and every single one was purely amazing, this place being cosy, with great family atmosphere and gorgeous decor is the place to eat, takeaway or simply to have a drink and some snacks, we have to try their breakfast next time as we have heard great things about that as well, certainly will go to visit regularly, we wish the ownership and the staff the best. Oh and the the food must have been a good omen as our...
