Happy Dumplings — Restaurant in London

Avoid this place! Extremely disappointing, food was very greasy and flavourless. The dim sum were overcooked and clearly cooked from frozen. Duck spring roll was more like duck fat in greasy pastry. But the service was the worst part of the meal. After ordering the waitress try to make us order more food, as if we hadn't ordered enough. The service was extremely slow, the dishes took a long time to arrive and came one by one, and one of the dishes we ordered never arrived. Struggling to get the waiters attention, getting complete ignored, when we finally got the bill after waiting for half an hour, we got charged for food that we never got. I can't recommend this place enough! I went with a group of friends just gone 11pm, mainly because it was one of the only places still open for dining in. Was so pleasantly surprised by the experience. The food was great - generous food portions, decent prices, and everything seemed to have been made fresh. However, the star of the show is the amazing, accommodating, generous lady whom I assume (co-)owns the restaurant. She was so sweet to my friends and me. I hope their business is booming, as she and her partner/colleague truly deserve all the best, and I can only imagine the strain it must be to have such long opening hours. Happy Dumpling was a disappointment, I had passed many times and always thought it must be good due to being busy. Slow service and then the wrong food got delivered then they had cheek to argue and made us pay for extra food we didn't even order. Steamed dumplings where lacking in taste and too much salt. Chicken skewers where just thin chicken in curry power in salt. The fried squid came very late was damp and soggy with more salty batter. Last was the Singapore noodles... well just boring and salty with more curry power/sauce.

Maybe the chef was having a bad day, but i have spent some time in asia and i know that was not as good as should been. Please try harder but I won't be...
