Read moreWent on the river cruise/London eye combined ticket for £60pp. Chose the 2.45pm slot on a Saturday.I took my mother who is 75 years old, has severe mobility issues, uses a walker but can only manage a few steps. I also saw people during the tour who were fully paralysed in electric chairs. The staff could not have been kinder or more accomodating. Disabled passengers are fast tracked to the front and aided in seating. The London eye in particular had very long queues which would take hours. The river boat even had a lift so disabled people can also enjoy the top deck and the staff were so kind and friendly operating the lift and helping people inside. Our river guide was called Mark, he was hilarious and gave such in depth knowledge of landmarks which made the boat tour so special. As a person who usually has bad luck it couldn't have gone better. We came off the boat and asked the London eye team about disabled access, they have a fast track queue for disabled people and once joining they escorted us to the front of the main queue and helped my mother in who was very scared and offered reassurance to take as much time as she needed. It was the first time she has done an activity in years and thanks to the team and their support of disabled person's experience it couldn't have gone better. I'm so grateful to everyone working the 2.45pm 14 September shift. I think the whole experience represented excellent value for money and was the first time something went perfectly for us. The boat tour offers amazing views of Tower Bridge and excellent commentary of landmarks and the pods on the London eye are large and although you seem to reach the top quickly it doesn't feel like its moving and most importantly doesn't rock or anything so it isn't scary. It feels like being in a building. The views are exceptional you can move around and their are portions of the pod that are for photos the London eye team say over speaker to move to them ag certain times if you want the professional photos after. Even my mother with her walker was able to move to the full viewing portions and everyone was respectful of letting everyone have a turn looking out at them. I think there were about 14 other people in with us and it didn't feel over...
