Honi Poké Shoreditch — Restaurant in London

Full disclosure - I got a £1 meal from these guys as part of a promotion where they gave walk up customers that offer. I was not in line longer than 1 minute, and I did not plan on going here, just passed by.

I shouldn't have to check an allergy matrix to take part in a promotion where I go from queue to ordering a £1 meal in under a minute. If you're going to give away meals like that you need to provide a correct allergy matrix IN EYELINE (not in a corner on your website that I have to look after the fact at to see why I'm writhing in pain), stop asking your cashier to offer it as an easy add on, or ask them to say 'would you like miso aubergine? It's £1 extra and it has nuts in'. Three perfectly viable options.

Sick to death of establishments not taking the responsibility to put an 'N' on the sign. It's one letter.

EDIT: I was not provided with a paper menu. I was also not told anything about the allergen policy that the person who responded to this review mentioned. I really must stress that I was in line for a promotional event for about twenty seconds then ushered into a restaurant which has NO ALLERGY INFORMATION on its main boards.

SECOND EDIT: yeah, they didn’t even respond to my email so any claims to want to discuss this further are...

Disgusting behaviour from employee!! I was here for lunch with some friends today and witnessed an employee yell at his muslim (hijab wearing) colleague to take off a top she was wearing under her uniform. She explained that she was wearing it for religious reasons and he proceeded to shout at her saying that he does not care about her religious beliefs. In a society that is supposed to be inclusive of all faiths and beliefs, this is unacceptably appalling. The individual who was yelling clearly had islamaphobic attitudes towards his colleague. He was extremely unprofessional in speaking to her in such a manner IN FRONT of all the customers in the restaurant. Both me and my friends were absolutely stunned by the way he was acting. We do not plan to come back to a place with disrespectful, islamaphobic employees which serves mediocre (at best) food. He was not wearing a name badge so I could not get his name, but he wore glasses, is approximately around 5ft6 to 5ft8 and he was wearing a navy shirt. People like him should be fired on the spot, if you cannot respect your own colleagues, why would I expect a good experience as a customer??? This issue should be raised to the manager and the employee should be removed...

I had such a great time at Island Poké in Shoreditch — from start to finish, everything was perfect. The food was incredibly fresh and flavorful, with every ingredient tasting like it had just been prepped moments before. You can really tell they care about quality and presentation.

But what made the experience even better was the staff. They were so warm, friendly, and genuinely helpful. From the moment I walked in, they made me feel welcome, patiently answered all my questions, and helped me put together the perfect bowl. Their positive energy really stood out — it’s rare to come across such attentive and kind service these days!

Everything was refreshed and spotless, and the whole place had a great vibe. It’s clear the team there takes pride in what they do. Big shoutout to the amazing staff — you guys made my day!

Can’t wait to come back again....
