Terrible food!! I'm from Delhi and have been to Amritsar multiple times so I know the cuisine really well.

Samosa chaat was tasteless with soggy samosa and loads of chana, same with aloo tikki chaat which was swimming in a bowl full of chana and no taste whatsoever!

Now comes the mains! Chola batura was disgusting, it felt chana was cooked in canned tomatoes with no taste of spices!

Thaali with dal makhni, saag and kulchas - saag was tasteless, and the aloo kulcha was horrible and all I could taste was boiled potatoes and nothing else!

PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

The food is terrible, and they have an attitude as well. I left the above review, and the owner is saying they have no record of me, and the review is fake!! Please see the attached credit card screenshot! Lol

Response: I visited around 4 pm on 05/04. Now, please say you can't find any record of my visit even when I sent the screenshot of my credit card account. Don't think there's anything wrong with my taste buds, but if your chaats and chole bature are best selling, then something has definitely gone wrong with the taste buds of Ilford residents. 😆 Good luck!!

Response: First, you didn't believe I came to your miserable restaurant, then you asked me the time, and now you claim I licked the bowls. Come on, you could have used this time and energy to sort out your terrible food and rather dirty restaurant, mate.

I have always loved Durga Seeets - love their food and seeets - and usually staff are great. Today on this occasion, I brought my elderly uncle who is 77 visiting from India, we had parate and lassi which was very tasty as usual. My uncle was treating me and told the owner that he would pay by cash, however uncle realised he was short of cash and so requested to pay by card. The owner responded extremely rudely and in a derogatory tone in that my uncle should have mentioned he was paying by card, my uncle tried to explain that he did not realise he had insufficient cash, but the owner showed no intention of listening to my uncle and merely reiterated the same in a very disrespectful tone. The normal thing to do would have been to say that it’s no problem at all and we do accept card, after all we are paying customers, and it would have taken him nothing but 10 seconds to cancel the cash till, plus above and beyond that is decency and respect and I feel Durga Sweets has downgraded into a valueless business, a far cry from what it was in its hey day. I’m sure the owner will recognise me if I choose to shop there again and will expect an apology to myself and uncle, and most definitely a free meal and sweets to take home. This is not a great send off for my uncle as he is leaving for India tomorrow. It’s energy and vibration that brings taste to food, if you start operating on a lower vibration then I guarantee you, your food and sweets will no longer have its appeal and you will begin to lose business to...

Terrible Experience – Delivered Rotten Food, No Apology

I had an awful experience with this restaurant. They delivered rotten food to my house, and I got sick after eating it. To make matters worse, I’m pregnant, which makes the situation even more concerning. When we called the restaurant to address the issue, they kept passing the phone around, avoiding responsibility, and when we finally got through to the manager, he said he needed to “check with the chef” and never apologized for the disgusting food they sent.

The lack of professionalism and care from this restaurant is appalling. Not only do they send out old, off, and inedible food, but their customer service is also disgraceful. No one seemed to care about the situation or the fact that I was unwell. The manager never once showed any empathy or apologized.

Avoid this place at all costs! Their food is terrible, and the way they handle customers is even worse. If you care about your health and safety, do yourself a favor and order elsewhere. Absolutely...
