First visit here but a very mixed bag... The decor and atmosphere are fine and the food I ate was very good. The staff were also very courteous so no complaints there. However.... firstly, 90p for a shot of vanilla syrup in a coffee?! No way am I paying that! I ordered lunch for myself and my wife and 1 coffee, the latter taking an age to arrive. My sandwich then came after a short wait, but no sign of my wife's and still no sign of it after I'd complete finished... I had to go up to the counter twice to chase them and was told it's coming, 2 minutes.... we were about to cancel but I was then told, oh it was delayed due to a faut in the kitchen. Ok, fair enough, but you could've told me that! I was offered a free coffee but I asked for flapjack instead which was reluctantly agreed to. When the food arrived, it was supposed to be a poached egg on top but it was fried! When I mentioned about this, the manager told me that the person doing it was still learning. I mean, if you don't have someone that can cook a poached egg, you need to remove it from the menu rather than serve an alternative. My final point - overall it was very slow service despite their being a few staff on. Without being rude, they were very polite but didn't seem as though they had worked in this industry before. Granted, everyone in a new job needs a bedding in period, but if that is the case, you at least need someone with experience to...

Even this place doesn’t deserve a star.
Today I stopped by Jamaica Blue in Richmond before a volunteering shift, hoping for a nice coffee with friends. Unfortunately, the experience was absolutely appalling. While my friends were deciding what to order, the manager (or whoever she was) suddenly came to the till and began rushing them aggressively, with no patience or basic customer manners. It felt like we were being treated as if we were a nuisance, completely uncalled for and disrespectful. Just because we’re younger doesn’t mean we deserve any less courtesy than older customers.
To make matters worse, when I finally got my coffee, it was scalding hot to the point where I burned my tongue. I thought maybe I was being too sensitive, but my friend tried hers and burned her tongue too. We politely raised the issue, only to be dismissed with a cold, “That’s the temperature we serve it at, there’s nothing we can do.” No apology. No offer to fix it. Just attitude.
The manager seemed visibly irritated, as if we were bothering her by simply expecting a decent level of service and a drink that wouldn’t injure us. Honestly, it was shocking.
Bad service, rude attitude, and dangerous drinks, this place needs to seriously reconsider who they put in charge. Would...

The food here was reasonably good for the price. Unfortunately this place was let down by the appalling service provided by their staff. My wife’s food arrived before our drinks which came over 5 minutes later, despite it only being two coffees and two bottles of water that had been ordered. My food arrived 15 minutes after my wife’s food meaning hers was getting cold by the time mine arrived. I spoke to the staff and asked them to bring the drinks over and they just said ‘it’s coming’ and didn’t seem to care that it had taken them so long to make some coffee and carry some water over that one of our meals had come out. Unfortunately cannot return to this branch of Jamaica blue so long as the service is so bad. The staff seem demotivated, inefficient, uninterested in communicating between the cooks and the baristas and they don’t seem to care at all about their jobs. This is a shame as we were looking forward to trying this place out. Very...
