Really terrible food, coming from a group of Malaysians. We ordered takeaway having been recommended this place by a friend - standard Malaysian dishes such as Nasi Lemak, Char Kuew Teow, Wat Tan Hor and Roti Canai with curry. Only the Char Kuew Teow was edible but still not great.

The rice portion for the Nasi Lemak filled up only half a container (see photo), included no cucumber and the fried chicken was extremely salty. £15 per portion for half rice, salty chicken and the sambal was not great either.

The Wat Tan Hor had peppers which it’s not meant to have, which changed the flavour completely. The noodles had been fried with egg to become some noodle-omelette fusion (see photo), and again, only took up the tiniest space in the container (second container from the left in the overall photo). This was in comparison to the overflowing container of sauce to go with it. For a Malaysian restaurant, portion sizes are very poor and stingy for the steep price. £12 for the Wat Tan Hor.

The Roti Canai was so disappointing. We tried a small bit and immediately threw the rest in the bin. It tasted disgusting and off, definitely frozen which was to be expected, but you would expect a Malaysian restaurant to be able to pick frozen brands that at least taste good if you are going to charge £8 for this portion. It came rolled up in foil, so the texture when we opened it up was so soggy and thick (see photo). Not the light, flaky Roti Canai that we’re used to in Malaysia.

The Char Kuew Teow was okay, the best out of the meal but the meal was not of quality standard. Confused why it came with a fried egg and pickled chilli, as this is not normal with this dish.

We question the authenticity of this Malaysian restaurant, we have tried proper authentic Malaysian places in London such as Laxsa in Soho which is further but we would rather go further for actual Malaysian food than this subpar place that is closer. Not sure why this restaurant is so stingy with rice and noodle portions too. Wouldn’t recommend, paid £57 total for the meal (after a 10% first time customer discount) and most of it was in the bin. They also charged a £2.49 service charge which is shocking. Ideally I would like my money back, not just the service charge, but for...

I was visiting the restaurant 2 months ago. What a delightful experience from start to finish! You can really feel the care put into every details from the food, environment and service.

The nasi lemak with crispy chicken was incredible and cooked to perfection. The chicken was delicious mix of crunch and succulent meat, bursting with rich and aromatic flavors. The fragrant coconut rice paired beautifully with the deeply flavorful sambal, crunchy peanuts, and crisp cucumber slices, creating a perfect harmony in every bite.

The banana balls were arranged like little golden treasures, perfectly round and crispy on the outside and wonderfully soft, naturally sweet on the inside. Every bite felt like a little comfort hug.

I also tried the kaya French toast, and it was a masterpiece on its own. The golden brown slices stacked elegantly with a generous spread of creamy kaya, drizzle lightly with maple syrup and butter that added a delicate touch and taste heavenly.

The plating and presentation were so thoughtfully done, and it’s really made and serve with heart from chef Habib.

To wash it all down, the milk tea was smooth, creamy, and just the right amount of sweetness with rich tea flavor. The texture is nice and velvety, making every sip enjoyable and unforgettable for its special taste.

What really stood out, beyond the delicious food, generous portions with the price it’s one of the best deals in town and worth every single pence, was the impeccable service. The staff were really welcoming, helpful, kind and friendly that made it feel right at home from the moment I walked in. The atmosphere was clean, vibrant, cosy and lively, making it a perfect spot to sit back, relax and enjoy a wonderful meal with the love one, either it is indoor or at the charming secret garden at the backyards.

Such a gem of a place, amazing food, lovely people, and truly great value. No regrets and highly recommended. I’ll...

Had a large group booking for hari raya dinner of 20 pax.

As we are a university society, we had a budget to work with. Called the restaurant during a non peak hours and asked about allll the details such as if a large group booking could be made, any set menus available, whats the deposit like etc.

The staff was so accommodating and patient with all of my requests and questions.

For my party of 20 pax, we created a set menu that fits our budget and was enough to feed my people. Our budget was around 15gnp per pax for 5 pax per table. Just based off their menu, we were able to provide each table of 5- 1 sharing starter, 2 main dishes to share, 1 veggie dish to share, white rice for all and 3 desserts to end. Thats such a great value!!!!

Java fusion also reassured me that if we had a dish in mind that wasn't on the menu, we could suggest it to them and they can try cooking it as well. However we stuck to the menu as we wanted to try their dishes. We were given a private space for our booking. You can also request for it to be nicely decorated but for our event we did not.

My team complimented that the food was more than enough and some said the desserts itself was like a 3 course meal because of the variety available. Food was very delicious and flavourful! As we are from UCL, the restaurant is a further out yet my team felt the journey was so worth it and would come back again!

I am sooo grateful to the entire team at Javafusion. Thank you for the delicious food and an affordable price, especially for London. May your business receive success and we will see you soon!

Ps: forgot to take pics of food but here are some...

What a beautiful place to dine! We had our favourite - Roti King, but someone told us about this restaurant and wow! We really felt we were dining in Malaysia with the whole ambience of this restaurant, and the undoubtedly authentic flavours. We complemented the food, and were told the chefs are Indonesian and source their spices from Malaysia, which makes absolute sense. The depth of flavours was insane, the dishes were punchy and so flavour packed! Our friends are Malaysian, and they said the flavours reminded them of home. The food was absolutely divine and finger licking delicious! We were seated in the back, in an enclosed outer space, on an evening, so it was a lovely evening atmosphere and it was warm. We absolutely felt like we were back in Malaysia. It was as if time stood still. We ended up being glad we weren't seated in the main restaurant area. You can pre-book seating. We were told to send a text which we did, but they didn't book our table. We'd travelled 2 hours away. I was a bit sceptical about sitting in the 'back', but it worked out to be a special dining experience. Service was absolutely fabulous! Just a side note, the toilet is very small, and they do allow dogs, which really irked me. I'm not against pets, it's more the entitled obnoxious owners, which was the case with a female diner. We'd recommend this restaurant, and if it wasn't so far, we'd definitely be dining here regularly. Also, prices are very decent. Every dish was worth every penny (".)
