I'm totally disappointed by the service I recieved. If I could give a review of -3 I would happily do so.
Firstly I made an order on the telephone and spoke to a young woman who was impolite at best. She was huffing and puffing which is off-putting to say the least as she clearly did not know her own menu. Then to add to it I heard her comment under her breath " I can do without this right now". As I was making my order I had the phone put down on me. I know it wasn't connection issues my end, as I was calling from my landline. I then called again and she didn't realise I could hear her and I heard her comment "and the fool is still trying to come through when I cut her off"
Because historically I always recieve excellent customer service I decided to go into the shop and make my order. One lovely staff member who I see regularly most evenings, always remembers my name, and those of my children and obviously to care about the service customers recieve.
Mistake 1 Upon entering the shop I asked to speak to a Manager and was told that the usual girl wasn't in and the other Manager I believe is called Jon was unavailable. She then commented "Everyone always asking for Liz she don't live here you know". Then I was asked "what do you want?" Now I realise that this is a valid question but it was the tone of voice that was used to ask the question, accompanied by the scowl on this womans face, which gave the impression I was bothering her. I realised that this was the same woman I had spoken to on the phone earlier.
Mistake 2 I told her that I had tried calling earlier and that something happened with the phone to which she shrugged her shoulders and said "so...?" I chose not to discuss further as there seemed no point.
Mistake 3 I said I would like a large jerk chicken with hardfood and 3 chicken patties. Initially the woman serving me said they had the hardfood. Then she went in the kitchen and I overheard a man saying "tell them we don't have it I ain't got time for that cha!" Really? You don't have time to sell your own food. Are you in the business of food or retail? I wasnt asking for a dress!
Mistake 4 I had my 2 small children with me so I then said I would take the patties as they were hungry. If it wasn't for my kids I would have left
Mistake 5 Whilst I was waiting for the patties she had to run out of the shop after drivers because she had failed to include the correct food in orders??
Mistake 6 As I was leaving I witnessed the same rude woman refilling the patties with her bare hands after seeing her scratch her head and wipe her nose. There was a sink right behind her!!!
Mistake 7 I later discovered as I'm walking home that I was sold 2 chicken and 1 saltfish patty, instead of the 3 chicken patties I asked for. Someone was watching over us as I was so lucky that it was me who took a bite of the saltfish and not my daughter as she's allergic to fish.
Mistake 8 I deeply regret giving this place my £7.50. In these times when things are so hard for everyone they should be grateful people still choose to buy from them if this is the calibre of staff we have to deal with. Although to be fair I know they aren't usually like this as I would never give them my money
Needless to say I won't be making Mistake number 9 by ever going back into that shop.
I took time to write this review as I've never experienced such rudeness before. I see and hear so much bad stuff about Caribbean restaurants and today they lived up to every stereotype in terms of customer service.

Read moreSuch a wicked jerk spot (best in the area by far) but PLEASE just decide what your "meals" come with. Half the time you get a proper complete box with a small portion of plantain, greens and salad and other times it's just chicken and rice with nothing else.
Then if you order the extra plantain and callaloo you get way too much for one person with the potential to also get the small portion the meal should come with anyway. Consistency is so important when it comes to food so please, please, please just make a decision and stick to it.
I've worked as a chef for 20 years in loads of different restaurants so I know from experience that it's the little details like this that take a place up a notch. Really hope you read this because I bloody love your food :)

Read moreWe settled nearby, and I ordered a meal a couple of times in the past.
Today we decided to takeaway our lunch from here, but as we entered, an unfriendly lady at the counter quickly wrote "accept only cash today", so we ordered with the delivery app, however no tasty sauce served, no plataine, rice or whatever for more price paid. 😞
I don't have an idea what happened and why this lady specifically wrote this "cash only" on the tissue only after 2 minutes while I was explaining my wife the options, but I got a really unwelcoming impression as if she didn't want to serve us or whatever.
Food is fine, just a pity it's darn hard to get it.
