Querky Cafe — Restaurant in London

OMG... what has happened to Querky Cafe!!! I used to really enjoy a Sunday brunch here. We went yesterday and firstly layout has changed... it's not querky anymore. It just looks like a standard high street coffee shop now 😞. Very limited seating now. I used to love the food in this place, but now it's just bland or worse. Looks like it might be new management. Staff were okay (not as friendly as before). Anytime we asked anything we got one of those, it's the way we do it attitude.

Ordered the Desi Breakfast (which the menu claimed was a best seller)....the masala eggs were just plain eggs with some coriander looking leaf. No flavour whatsoever. The chana Dal was really dry and bland...and butter chicken.... well where do I begin? It was some flavourless paste with shredded chicken mixed into apparently...I say apparently because that's what the staff member claimed when we questioned... where is the chicken pieces in the butter chicken....."that's just the way we make it".

Now I've had desi breakfast in many many places across east London and I have to say this has to be the worst desi breakfast....bar none.

It's such a shame that another good food outlet is ruined by a change of management or ownership 😔

This was the worst customer experience I have faced in my life. I have been to the other querky cafe branches it was very different. I ordered my food and half of it had come whilst the other half was ready at the counter as the chef had tapped the bell for one of the waiters to bring it over. The food stayed at the counter for over 25 minutes as the waiters were too busy gossiping and being careless of the food.

Once the rest of the food finally came over I realised that there was some of the food and 1 set of cutlery missing. After such a long wait I was surprised as to how unprofessional and unorganised this branch really is. To top this off, I asked one of the waiters for extra maple syrup and she responded with an awful manner and dirty attitude. I honestly can not believe how rude this waiter was. She was the darker Asian lady and I’m hoping she reads this because her attitude is appalling. I will never in my life be going back to this branch as it has ruined this cafe for...

The interior is very minimal, abstract and colourful & the cafe is very spacious. It emulates cosy and comfy vibes and it's a perfect spot to have some great food with friends, family, colleagues etc. Their food was delicious😍. Pictured above is the chicken & waffle which was absolutely scrumptious🤤. The chicken was crispy & cooked to perfection as well as the Waffles & the maple syrup always adds a nice touch to a dish like this. My only critique is that there weren't enough chicken to match the Waffles. The omelette & chips were flavoursome & tasty. Their smoothies & milkshakes are fantastic esp the oreo milkshake 🥤. It was thick, creamy & rich😍😍👌🏼👌🏼. The lotus & banana pancakes were divine 🤤 & we devoured it in minutes🥞. Overall, their food was delightful & we left very happy & satisfied 🤤😋😁. The service was servicing 😅 & they have other branches around London including Forest Lane & Shadwell.
